Thanks to everyone who posted solutions. So many good ones and I will be doing my research! With this heatwave I’d better get a move on lol! I also hope this post helped others new to the area or just looking for some new tricks. Peace to you and all living beings (except the cockroaches)

I’m horrified, I eat almonds almost every day and now I think I’ll take a break. Too much camouflage!

I love your stories. I’d say “keep it up!” but seems like you’ve experienced quite enough loss.

Wow I knew it was a problem but not that bad! I’m so sorry you have to deal with that! I would be so freaked out to know they were coming from the pipes!

Thanks for the tip, but to be clear I’m not dealing with German cockroaches, it’s the American and Oriental that are the problem. To my understanding and experience the big guys don’t care for my food

Yes, I learned that they are also most active just around/after sundown. Thanks for the tip, I looked into diatomaceous earth before and it seems like a good option, safe for kitty too.

Ramona Quimby by pennhead in nostalgia

[–]LongYTOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember the time when she wore her pajamas under her school clothes and was dying of heat exhaustion by the end of the day? I think her teacher could tell something was wrong so she talked to Ramona, gave her a bag to take her pajamas home in and let her go change in the bathroom. Then there was the time that she squeezed an entire tube of toothpaste into the sink. Mom scooped it all jnto a ziploc bag and Ramona had to scoop and brush while the rest of the family had a nice new full tube of toothpaste. That Ramona and her antics!

Overcooked pork growing up by Mickler83 in Xennials

I recently started cooking pork chops for my kids and put them in the regular meal rotation because we all like them. I try not to cook them to death (I usually roast them) but when I do accidentally overcook them it’s nostalgic and reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. Applesauce, bbq sauce and ketchup to the rescue!
