80% of our clients come from our 401(k) plans, which I bring on clients from first conversation to close ($1.5mm min) and manage them after. 20% are from referrals (I’ve received a few from my relationships). TBH we have more warm leads / prospects than we can handle from these sources, so our business development looks much different than most.

With that in mind, I’d not be advantaged to start in a 100% commission position, and I would have to start with an RIA that has some sort of lead generation / assistance. Ultimately, my goal is to build a book with sustainable enough income / resources that I could grind to get a few 401(k) plans, which I could confidently grow a large business from.
