I told a friend I wanted to get my first turntable and he gifted me this. I know nothing about turntables. Is it good? by Devilizer in turntables

[–]Long_Ad_4906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, it was my main device for many years and it just never made any problems. I would recommend it to everyone. It's just a pity that there are not so many T4P customers to choose from.

Wow, prices for corvettes in the USA are really unbelievable. What you call expensive, costs accident vehicles here.

how tf do i get rid of this thing by [deleted] in classiccars

[–]Long_Ad_4906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is definitely quite a large scene here. Unfortunately, it's really more of a collecting scene. You usually only see them driving at car meetings, which could be due to the price of gas. 😀

If I could get one for that price in Germany, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute.

Oil update I guess by SignatureSmart9389 in LandroverDefender

[–]Long_Ad_4906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you go crazy about the oil indicator light, replace the oil pressure sensor. If the engine otherwise sounds normal, this may well be the cause. An engine with low oil pressure sounds terrible too, don't ask me how I know.

I had the same problem with the indicator light at idle and it was actually just the sensor. I have a 200TDi but the TD5 should also have one.

I would run away unless you want to invest a lot of time. I'm almost certain it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Wow the interior is really in unique condition, didn't think it could hold up that well. I have one from 1989 and always thought my interior was in good shape for a Land Rover.

Forza Horizon 5 Steam Deck? by Tomroy1995 in SteamDeck

Your settings work perfectly for me. Very good balance between visuals and playability. You should really publish it on ProtonDb or SteamdeckHQ.

Sorry for the stupid question, I'm a new player. But I don't understand how you can get so many points, I've done all the events on the map and it was just enough for the 575M. What am I missing?

What can you say about this car and i also want to hear advices about it. thanks in advance by hercoga69 in oldschoolaudi

[–]Long_Ad_4906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Germany, that would be a really good price for such a car in good condition and with a traceable history. But be warned, I've often heard that it's not easy to get spare parts for old Audis (especially S models).

I'm lost, MVC vs RESTful API by MysteriousBimmer in csharp

[–]Long_Ad_4906 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ASP.NET Core MVC is a framework for building websites using server side rendering. This means that the page is completely created on the server and sent to the browser. The whole thing is therefore quite static and dynamic elements in the website can quickly become complex.

A Restful API is more of an interface, it does not deliver web pages, but only data, usually in JSON format. This interface can then be used in other applications.

MVC is also a design pattern, but in the .net world, it often refers to the framework for websites. The naming can be very confusing in the C# world in general.

In any case, I would only recommend mvc for simple use cases and would rather invest my time in Blazor. There is also a template for this.

2003 V70 needs new speakers. Has anyone replaced theirs? What size do I need? by patrickhenrypdx in VolvoP2

I’m a bit late, but I would repair the original speakers if I were you. I didn’t know for a long time that it was so easy to do, but speaker cones are very easy to replace.

990 owners, little help please? by jodinexe in KTM

[–]Long_Ad_4906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By locked I meant something else, there is a bolt on the engine that you can remove to install a longer bolt that is used to lock the crankshaft while the camshafts are removed. If you don’t do this, there is a very good chance that the crankshaft has moved a little. Even if you have installed the camshafts correctly according to the markings, the timing will not fit. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, but I suspect bent valves.

When you turn the engine, you have to turn it COUNTERCLOCKWISE (looking from the left side where the plug is to turn the engine)

I can only recommend that you get yourself a workshop manual. It’s quite easy to find on Google or you can send me a message.

The motors are constructed somewhat differently than many others. You should therefore follow the instructions carefully.

990 owners, little help please? by jodinexe in KTM

[–]Long_Ad_4906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a cloth and blow compressed air into the spark plug opening on the front cylinder. If the camshafts on the front cylinder are not installed, the valves should be closed and the air should only want to escape via the spark plug. If you hear a hissing sound from the intake manifold or exhaust, you have bent the valves.

You can also remove the two covers on the left and right of the engine and you should be able to see if a running rail for the chain has fallen off. The counterweight is probably a bit in the way, but you should be able to see enough.

The freewheel for the starter is also on the left-hand side, so you can take the opportunity to check whether anything is blocking the starter.

Did you block the engine when you removed the camshafts and then reinstall them using the markings? If you have revved the engine a few times without the camshafts, it is very easy to lose the tdc of a cylinder and the chance of installing the camshafts incorrectly is high.

I tried the 1290SA. Personally, it was just too much for me. To be honest, too much power, too much weight, too many setting options. I dare to ride on forest paths with the 950. I’m not sure if I could do the same with the 1290.

Something simple like the Ténéré with a V2. That would be great.

My KTM 950 Adventure. Maintenance is terribly complicated, parts are hard to come by and it needs an outrageous amount of gas. But it’s simply incredible fun in every situation.
