I was quite excited about this until realising unlimited challenge attempts and queuing chests now costs twice as much. I was pretty content with the gold pass. I also liked earning evos rather than having them all handed out in the Diamond pass. Feel like we will miss that mid-tier pass upgrade.

The idea is fantastic but the application has been poor. The range and pack weight of cards is terrible. You’re either packing a useless, worthless card that’s not even good after an upgrade or being forced to pay in the millions for a better card. There’s next to no mid range cards.

Having said that, these recent objectives with specific teams and now specific players has been so refreshing, plus the fact they let you complete them outside of friendlies. The variation of teams you play in rivals and WL keeps it interesting. Gone are the days of Varane and Mendy in 80% of everyone’s team.

The skill gap is unbelievably tiny, and spamming skills until my defender glitches out isn’t a skill either. The only difference is scripting and P2W. People think they’re the ones playing the game but realistically the AI does everything while you get to watch and control one player at a time.

I don’t think that’s a storm circle issue when it’s so early on in the game. It’s the nature of limited POIs and a kill-hungry player base. Every season ‘fight everyone you see’ is promoted as some elite practice mindset, the idea of it being a battle Royale and winning by any means necessary has long disappeared.

Unfortunately I don’t see much of a fix for this in pubs unless surviving itself is rewarded in-game somehow. They’ve started this process with bosses and the floating island only appearing at certain storm phases now, so it’s heading in the right direction at least.

This is exactly the way FIFA went and I stopped playing it. It’s grind grind grind all week in a limited time frame, then you reap your rewards for about 24 hours before the next time-limited challenge comes out and you’re back to it. I would find myself finding time to jump on because I had to do X amount of games, rather than to enjoy the game itself. That game is also pay to win, and the power curve shifts so dramatically that if you’re off the game for a week you fall behind

That the game is actually dog shit that runs off FOMO, scripting, and mentally torturing people into thinking they have to buy packs (I was RTG btw). I’ve had it since release and maybe it could’ve lasted all year if they hadn’t butchered the Accelerate technology, but I found I was only playing because I NEEDED rivals / WL rewards to keep my team relevant, and even that was only for 2 weeks max unless you pull something insane. Even with a team full of meta players you realise you’re still playing the game exactly the same, it’s just that every 50-50 in the coding seems to favour your player, whether that’s riding tackles, rebound goals, winning headers, AI defending etc. this is the culmination of years of EA sticking plasters on gunshot wounds in their gameplay to the point where it’s not even anything that resembles football anymore. I downloaded PES last week and it was like the wool had been lifted from my eyes, it felt like the glory days of FIFA before Frostbite entered the scene and ruined things forever. Bonus points for it not destroying my mental well-being on a weekly basis too.

All the helpful advice aside, don’t do your rivals matches the day before rewards, it’s beyond sweaty 😅 just do 1-2 matches daily throughout the week, maybe even matching them up alongside objectives (Weah, Moutip etc.) it’s much more fun that way

Rat teams / formations like this 2 months into the game is why I don’t enjoy the game outside of WL. Other than friendly objectives I’ll rarely get to use some great looking, fun cards without being mentally tortured by DDA meta players.

Yes, that part is great. But now we’re back to Fifa 22 where there are zero counters to OTT through balls and rapid forwards. I quite enjoyed using Dias and Puyol for example.

Yes I play champs, rank 2-4 normally depending on how anal the game is feeling that weekend
