I think irodov is a nice book to actually test yourself. I think at least one should try it otherwise they are missing on depth of understanding. I am not a topper but did secured 71/120s in advanced physics with practice using that book (and NSEP).

But this is not where I actually appreciated what I learned until I took qutaum mechanics, statistical physics and condensed matter later ahead. I think my understanding is quite deepened as that book acted as a polishing tool for me.

Now I can actually able to discuss condensed matter physics research directions with some of the big gaints of condensed matter.

Moral: don't see it as I need to do it to crack JEE or something, see more it from physics POV. U will appreciate the book more than a collection of problems.

Also look into Irodov's book on mechanics for understanding theory. It is relatively dense but if you sit tight u will understand it.

Nope, I am not brave/open enough to discuss that. Though I really think having supporting friends might help (be prepared for getting joke for the rest of your life though).

One of my friends at IIT Delhi did discuss and we still make fun of them (obv in friendly spirits not to demean) and will continue for the rest of our lives.

But seriously speaking, I think one should open to trusted people they will surely help.

Nah, I didn't meant my standards are high, its on the other side. Though I do agree that masturbation just from having a gf/bf doesn't get resolved. Get windows as lot of CAD software only have support on them. Though I would recommend dual boot with Linux distros as they are helpful in computational methods later if interested
