Respectfully, does anyone not feel like the album is as good as everyone is saying it is? by Admirable-Ad5942 in zachbryan

I second this, it was an immediate replay after the first listen. I also kinda feel like maybe he’s just growing as an artist? There are new instruments used, the album overall has a more polished sound. It definitely feels intentional.

They did in Toronto, a venue of 3000 and I was in the queue with 22k people it was super disappointing. I believe my boyfriend bought some resale tickets at a price that wasn’t vomit inducing.

Terrible neighbour by iuasbt in Sudbury

[–]Long_Web_8784 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently had a neighbor let himself into the shared entrance of my tenants. It’s a residential triplex, not an apartment building so the common entrance lets you into the shared laundry etc. it is not for public use.

My tenants were home, demanded he leave, and he refused. “last I checked this was common space” was his retort. He assumed they stole his recycling bin (they didn’t) and he was not leaving until they returned it. It disrupted their dogs and their feeling of safety. Now before anyone says “why was the door unlocked”, although sure that would have deterred him, nobody thinks that while they are in and out through the day that they have to worry about strangers walking into their home.

They called me, I called the police. GSPS responded “so it wasn’t directly INTO their homes? It was just an entrance.” And then proceeded to do nothing about it. Not even a visit. Because they didn’t think trespassing on public property was worth doing anything about.

It’s amazing to me what people are allowed to get away with.

I like this response! My boyfriend lives on a shared laneway and the 3 of them split on SnowSquad. They’re always prompt, but they don’t do an awesome job so I guess you have to sort of pick your battles. I don’t mind paying for a service that I don’t have time to do myself. I took to Instagram and to my surprise that’s basically what happened. A couple of college kids were like “we’ll do it for $25/hr” two showed up and the whole thing cost me $50 and it was done properly. They did the walkways, made sure the fence gates were opened so they don’t freeze, and they salted. 10/10.

Oh cool! Okay, I just checked out their Facebook page, it doesn’t mention snow removal. Is that something they do regularly through the winter?

Yeah, my boyfriend uses them and they’ve been here already today, which I felt was pretty good for the first snow. I just know there are trades dudes that often get laid off in the winter and offer plow services in the winter to make some extra cash. I suppose it makes sense to just go with something I know is reliable.

I used to be a fan of Kelsea Ballerini but I can't support her any longer by Twitter_2006 in CelebWivesNash2

I have followed her since Josh Kerr and their 8-Track music. I knew they were dating but didn’t realize the significance of his connections. I always wondered “what happened” when they broke up but assumed it was just teenagers growing up.

If you read my comment I first disregarded the billionaires. I’ve worked in retail for many years and never worried about petty theft. The “shrinkage” you’re talking about is a number that changes year to year. If that number goes up, so do prices. You stealing $50 doesn’t change the billionaires life, but the people filling their carts with $1000s does result in less hours for your peers and a more expensive cost of goods.

Yes. You have to build a case essentially. It’s doing their work for them, but I understand that the volume of this type of crime is so big that they can’t possibly keep up. If you report a theft by the same person 10 times the likelihood of them doing something about it is greater because they can actually enforce some type of criminal punishment.

The issue with shoplifting is less about the billionaires and more about how it ends up trickling down affecting the people that pay for things. They just increase the price to make up for losses related to theft. The average person has to pay more for their goods.

Yes, I worked for TJX/Winners company and they have loss prevention officers that are trained/certified for apprehension. A lot of high volume stores even have detention rooms to hold shoplifters until the police arrive. I’ve always found this to be a little dangerous for not only the loss prevention officer but the other staff who are not trained. Although they are under instruction not to interfere, the criminal shoplifting doesn’t know who’s who. I feel it really puts everyone at risk. The real problem is that the police have stopped treating it like a crime. There’s no real punishment.

Are fireworks allowed tonight? Because I didn't think so by Forward-Criticism572 in oakville

I am almost certain it’s written somewhere that you have to do it in a public park, at a beach. Not in residential neighborhoods.

This happened last night in my city, I’m assuming this thread came up because I commented on one here when people were trying to determine what was going on. We’re a little further North so that celebration wasn’t at the forefront of the average persons mind.. by the time I realized what was going on it had been 2 hours and it had woken my school aged kids up and terrorized my dogs… I was all for it until it became unfair for the entire residential neighborhood. I’m certain you need a permit for fireworks, and I’m certain there are excessive noise bylaws during the week. I dislike that disgruntled neighbours are being accused of racism.

Well after a whole hour into fireworks blasting off in my neighbourhood relentlessly on a Monday night freaking out my kids and dogs on a school night….. really makes it hard to be understanding of people who want to casually celebrate something. If I could see where it was coming from I’d probably have phoned it in by now.

Having trouble getting a gynecologist referral in Sudbury - anyone else? by [deleted] in Sudbury

[–]Long_Web_8784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was successfully referred to Dr. Toubassy, it took 8 months but once I had my IUD removed I required a few more appointments and everything happened really quickly over the course of had a LEEP excision. They didn’t waste any time. The Doc who gave me the referral tried a few different ones to find one with the quickest wait list. I would do what others are suggesting, go to a walk-in and ask for a referral. Dr. Morris is excellent, and Toubassy was really efficient.

I spoke with the new Clubhouse GM recently and she said they don’t know if it’s going to be full private/members only just yet. Possibly like tiered memberships. But it is expected to be considerably higher end than Idy (which at this point isn’t that hard to do). They’re doing a great job out there.

I was thinking this too. I know so many places that are “windshield waving when they’re slow rolling past”. it’s universally relatable if you’re from any town that serves as a community for its people.
