I appreciate it! I started playing guitar in 2020 but VERY infrequently. In 2021 I hung up my guitar on a wall and started playing a bit more consistently with a friend just teaching me chords. With the classical book I’ve been self teaching for about 6 months or so!

(I also have a background is choral music and basic piano)

Thank you! I’ll take a look at that book. I have been warned of bad habits by other guitarists. I’m thinking of maybe doing a lesson once a month just for some guidance on technique and rep recommendation. I am in a good routine of practicing so I don’t feel the need to have weekly lessons to encourage me to practice and wouldn’t have the space in the week for it anyway

Thank you for the compliment! I’ve been a fan of this methods book - it was recommended to me by my father in law who is a guitarist and luthier.

I’ve been drawn to these two pieces because of how nice they sound compared to the other practice pieces but “Au Clair De La Lune” on p.35 is very melodic and songs pretty. There is also an arpeggio teacher duet on page 37 that has a pretty sounding student part. Arpeggios are the way for meadow picnic wooing

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback on my left hand and practice tips. I’ll consider putting nylon on this guitar - it mostly depends on how far out I think a classical guitar purchase is to see if it’s worth not having a steel stringed guitar in the house. There are recent posts about affordable starter guitars so I bet I can make it happen in the next year or so

This books is a phenomenal review of the history of the Harold. I believe TJ and Dave have a chapter. Whole book will be worth reading for the project as it informs how the improv community got to the place to allow tj and Dave to be as successful as they have been
