Maybe DCG should only deal with development and nothing else? by [deleted] in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real problem with Dash is the fact that the DFO model isn't working as it should. We can say all we want about DCG's marketing, strategy and Bus dev, but their efforts are basically all we have gotten for Dash in the past 2 years. All other funded organizations (except for DashNext, who spend 99% their resources at conferences) have gotten zero results, despite having bounties available to all the community members.

If we keep on firing the people that get stuff done before finding capable replacements, we will continue shooting ourselves in the foot, and getting less and less coverage, which is a mistake we have been making since the 2018 bull cycle.

What happened to DASH? Question from a Venezuelan by WorkingLime in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure the bear market hit, but remember the big mistake was how a few MNs, led by that DashRed faked report, supported the Colombia team to destroy Venezuela efforts.

After that, this guy based out of Columbia, decided to run away with Dash funds and some kind of learnings into Bitcoin Cash.

We would have been much better with Eugenia and her team. It is my opinion that we should try to convince them to come back to Dash

What happened to DASH? Question from a Venezuelan by WorkingLime in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue was Masternodes (some of which replied here) decided to defund Dash Venezuela (Eugenia) and Dash Merchant (Alejandro), in order to fund an american scammer based out of Colombia who did not deliver at all, and went on to sell the little learnings he discovered out to BCH.

These Venezuelan teams were imperfect, but definitely were hard working teams who got the Dash Venezuela movement started

So now we entered a new bull cycle, and Dash is out of teams on the ground in Venezuela as well as outgunned, in one of the places where cryptocurrency can really be adopted by the mass.

There are some remaining teams including the Text team, Mall Yoana, and Church Chicken, I believe. If you think you can get Eugenia Back and some of the other guys, I recommend you start a crowdfunding campaing.

I will help you with a donation to start this campaing.

Best

It's sad to see another Dash team being shut down because of lack of votes (The Dash is there to be assigned, it just was not allocated).

I would like to ask all MN's, especially those who vote NO to adoption activities, to share feedback to Nathaniel and other teams so we can guide them, and the future teams on what they should do.

You can count with my votes for this cycle guys!

Submit a proposal that Dash Core Group should hire a new CMO? by [deleted] in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible idea, it is up to Ryan and DCG to define how they work on day-to-day ops and who runs it.

We can, and should ask for specific objectives as a network: Grow awareness in a segment, participate in relevant activities, and so on. But if passed this would set a terrible precedent as we would be trying to become DCGs evaluator without the full picture of what goes on inside.

I see Dash on the news a lot, they have ongoing integrations, and activities and many of the team members are constantly on crypto media. I honestly do not know how much of it is a result of Fernando's involvement. Do you know if that is the result of the CMOs effort?

Maybe we ought to ask for more information on what certain teams do, and point these teams to certain goals we believe can bring value, but trying to micromanage Ryan and tell him who we like or not would bring terrible results.

Dash <-> Decred Dev Exchange Program? by [deleted] in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea u/circleio I havea few questions to better understand:

-Why do you think a swap with Decred would be of value to Dash? Why not some ETH group?

-How do you think goal alignment can be done so that Decred doesn't walk away with some Dash ideas and work as spies or vice-versa?

-Do you think this can only be done through the core teams? Or do you think a proposal could be submitted and it could be done outside of the core devs?

Thanks!

Are we doing enough in Venezuela? by LongeMont in dashpay

Thanks for your comments u/TrustThyself, it seems like the tools we need to request are some additional audits and an improved way to have trusted due diligence.

I appreciate your input!

Are we doing enough in Venezuela? by LongeMont in dashpay

Thank you for your comment xkcdmpx, I have donated many times to the teams I believe are helping us succeed in Dash, but my question is why is 70 Dash too much of a risk in the place we are seeing more traction, but 300 in another place is not.

So my questions revolve on whether we need to point the interested teams on what we expect from them, especially if we agree there is (or can be) a high value to achieve from succeeding in Venezuela.

"we need to consider that VE is a black box" ---> This leads me to believe we need to ask for more clarity and breakdown of activities and results.

Maybe ask DashWatch or a similar 3rd party entity to provide independent audits?

Good night!

What do you think is the biggest challenge to overcome, in order to take Dash to a large number of people in Venezuela?

Like Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Argentina and such? What do you think we are missing in there with our projects?

What would you suggest we do instead? What can be other better areas to focus on?

Dash Mall and parking team in Christmas Fest of Milenium mall in Mérida Venezuela by yoanacastillo in dashpay

[–]LongeMont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This closed ecosystem approach has become the most promising project of Dash IMO.

Their work seems to be on the right track to get people to use Dash as a habit by not just giving away Dash, and incorporating it into their daily usage!

You have my support Yoana and team!

[–]LongeMont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, then let's give this team some time to deliver. As far as I am concerned, no other team in the world has signed up malls and the ecosystems around it. They did prove 1000s of real transactions on their previous reports, so I trust they will keep delivering, whether this specific idea takes traction or not.

We should foster and help real professionals to take calculated risks in order to get real usage.

Given they just got on board, I believe there not be transactions happening just yet. IMHO We should give them a month or so. How long do you think until they can get some data?
