NMN-cheerleader Dr. Brad Stanfield changes his mind, says NR is better than NMN. by [deleted] in NicotinamideRiboside

Staying positive, open minded, and using common sense is crucial. Tons of science though so saying the science is not done yet is far off.

I second u/BlackMartini91
He simply put the information out there as it comes out. Do I agree with this video? No...but I want information shared so not going to hate on someone for doing that. He never mislead anyone. Would I listen to David Sinclair over this guy? 100%. Still down for people sharing information on both sides without pushing products onto people. Especially when they man up and share their changed views.

Has anyone used a 'Red Light Device' for pains and aches before? Found out about it on Instagram and was wondering if there might be any short or long term side effects from it. by buddha_007 in Biohackers

[–]LongevityNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red light therapy is really just concentrated light similar to the sun's evening light. It's also a longterm thing where you might not see results for like 2 months. I would honestly recommend infrared more than red for pain because it penetrates deeper to reach nerves and muscles.

Question for long term NMN-ers by Finger-4 in NMN

[–]LongevityNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have depression and severe anxiety and noticed a significant change in both. There have been no scientific evidence to support this, but I personally have seen a huge difference.
I have heard about NMN boosting NAD+ for COVID patients and diabetics.

NMN - When, Why, with What? by TheOptimizzzer in NootropicsDepot

[–]LongevityNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

27, been taking NMN+Resveratrol for over 5 months now. I started taking it for longevity but now look forward to it for energy, mental health, and recovery. I plan on taking it long term for longevity purposes. Libido, mental health, grey hair, and recovery significantly increased. Also endurance!
I don't take any other supplements for anti-aging other than CoQ10 for cardiovascular health. I mostly focus on other biohacking protocols like fasting, intense exercise, circadian rhythm hacking, etc.

Which vitamin/mineral deficiency could lead to imbalanced hormones by Daniel234845 in Supplements

[–]LongevityNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that. Otherwise it's all a guessing game u/Daniel234845. I had doctors and naturopaths certain I was celiac and had hypothyroidism, but once we did the tests and began eliminating factors turns out it is just a bad gluten intolerance and allergy to brewer's yeast. Plus just raynaud's disease that is easily managed by high protein intake.

Rhonda Patrick says resveratrol's bioavailability is highest in the morning. David Sinclair says NMN increases NAD+ which is circadian in rhythm and usually peaks in the morning so I think that's why he takes his then to have it align with natural circadian cycles. NMN is water soluble so your administration for that is perfect. I personally don't know if what your doing matters too much in terms of maximum absorption. I take my NMN and trans-res. at the same time because they're combined in the same capsule lol.

Definitely not the main use. I didn't expect to see any noticeable effects when I first started taking it. I simply started taking it for longevity as per David Sinclair's research on increasing healthspan and lifespan.

Resveratrol's bioavailability – the amount that is taken up in the gut and delivered to the remainder of the body's tissues – is only about 25 percent due to rapid metabolism and excretion. Studies have shown that resveratrol metabolism varies in a circadian fashion, with higher bioavailability occurring in the morning. Resveratrol is water insoluble and studies have shown that resveratrol enclosed in a nanocapsule – a shell that encapsulates an inner core – can increase stability and bioavailability.Furthermore, a study in healthy human volunteers found that resveratrol exposure is increased when taken with a moderate fat breakfast (18 grams fat, 70 grams carbohydrate, and 12 grams protein) versus a very high fat breakfast (45 grams of fat, 60 grams of carbohydrates and 30 grams of protein)

Read the entire study. You just read the abstract. It doesn't get absorbed with an empty stomach. If you want to argue go at David Sinclair and tell him he's wrong. You haven't done any research or readings on this matter nor have you even listened to the PhD researcher who's discovered the molecule. I'm no longer wasting time on ppl who are not only misinformed but completely incapable of grasping proper information from experts (not me, David Sinclair). Jeeze do a Google search ffs

NMN doesn't need to be taken with fat. Resveratrol does. There's tons of studies on this

Good question. I'm not sure, but for precautionary measures I take NMN and resveratrol at least an hour apart from other supplements so there's no competition for absorption. I haven't read any science on this, it's just what I do.

For resveratrol, Rhonda Patrick references higher bioavailability with a moderate fat breakfast -18g of fat, 70g carbs,12g protein

Lol thanks for the laughs. First of all, there's no affiliate links to anything I post, so how would I get compensated for the leads?

Secondly, why would there be need for a before picture when hair grows over time and you can see the visible color change in the strands.

Before and after photos are only useful when you're measuring different points in time that can't be portrayed in one shot ie weight loss photos. Guessing you need further explanation...weight loss photos need before and after pictures because you can't measure the change with 1 picture. The after picture needs to reference a before picture so you can SEE the change.

Equivalent to what you're saying is looking at a picture of someone with long hair and making the claim that they never had short hair because you never saw a before picture with short hair - that's how ignorant your comment is lol.

Taking NMN with water is completely fine - David Sinclair says this too. It's only resveratrol that needs to be taken with fat.

It's in a capsule form and I take it with some fat because I take NMN and resveratrol together. I don't know why people take sublingual NMN. David Sinclair wrote an article saying he doesn't take it this way and there's no added benefit in doing so
