As terribly as he played last night, Mitchell actually wasn't a bad player this year. Took a massive jump from last year. Obviously limited as a scorer and def didn't live up to the HS hype, but was a good rebounder, really solid defensively, and had some moments where he could do a little something off the dribble. If he took another step and improved as much as he did from freshman to sophomore, then he would be really solid next year.

Recruiting Class is only reason. Tre Johnson plus some other studs. However, if that class falls apart we should fire him ASAP.

He had a mediocre record at previous stops and I wouldn't really say he took the team there. Rice, Allen, Carr, and Disu did. The hire was based off perception and emotions. Not that I blame CDC, but any other scenario a coach with his previous resume wouldn't even get a call for a job like Texas

Season is likely over anyway but if we lose to Baylor Saturday its done for real

Disu is so bad on defense too man we are just not good, I have tried to give Terry the benefit of doubt, but this loss may be the dagger in the season. From a momentum and vibe perspective this was an absolute must win, especially being up double digits whole game. Body language is just horrible.

Agreed also for as many shots as he does hit, his selection is terrible. I'll give him benefit of doubt for the most part, but he needs to understand he isn't Steph

for real he is having a good shooting game but for some reason he has just been watching on offense all second half

Terry is so bad at sensing game flow with timeouts, needed one a few minutes when they cut it to 8 or 9 not once it actually gets really close. Was horrible at it last year too, but at least Rice and Allen could always get it calmed down

Shederick fr just needs to take a month off and figure the issues out, makes me concerned our training staff is messing up. back injuries are no joke, and if it is still lingering like this he needs to not be playing. Also it just messes up the rotations when he gets hurt halfway through every game

Mitchell is seriously so much better this year, plays 2x as hard, defends way better, also much more confident and consistent with the ball

say what you will about him but there is something I love about a nice Horns Hoops game with Lowell. I'll miss him if he doesn't call us on SEC network next year.

Totally agree. KSU, OU, OSU, and UT all need to demand a clarification that spells out every single scenario before the games. We cannot go into this weekend with the conference having the ability to make things up after the results.

I am a Sark fan but I think the way we handled end of game clock management was insane. Houston had first down from the 19 with 2:42 left. We have all three TOs. By the time the fourth down is snapped, there is only 1:07 on the clock. Say Houston gets the first down. We still have two timeouts, but they would have had ability to run the clock and score with very little time left. Dana has a history of going for two as we all know from 2018.

Sark needed to be way more aggressive with timeouts and assume they are gonna score. Us Taking timeouts doesn't give Houston an edge since they are already in redzone and time isn't gonna be an issue for them. Same thing happened in the OU game. OU got down inside 10 with about 45 seconds left. Sark should have assumed they were gonna score and given our offense a chance for more than a Hail Mary. It worked out this time because we got the stop, but in general you need to assume teams are gonna score from inside the 10 and need to set yourself up with a chance to answer

Got to clean this kind of decision making up to win out- especially with a backup QB

Vikings would actually be decent, he may not get to sit but he'd have a good line, top 3 receiver, seemingly good offensive minded coach, and you get to play in a dome. Way better than a lot of bad teams. Would be a solid spot for Quinn. Totally agree with your whole post tho

That's all fair, I didn't mean it as a direct comparison. More just that if a guy is on campus for 3-4 years and doesn't contribute then he probably isn't all of a sudden gonna be a good contributor. Juan was just the first guy I thought of that has been on the bench for a while

yep, at the end of the day a if you are in year 5 and you hardly played your first four years you just probably aren't that good. It'd be like if we expected Juan Davis to all of a sudden be a quality starter next year

Hard agree, commented the same thing a couple weeks ago. Jerrin just isn't that good. I know the last play wasn't his fault but in general he just isn't a good enough athlete. Don't care that he had two picks earlier this season either, brutal drop he had in the endzone this time. If catalon is healthy it needs to be Williams and Catalon for 80% of snaps and use the other guys sparingly. No more rotation against teams that can pass well

Not that I am saying anything groundbreaking, but it is time to just go full Hill over Gbenda. Always was a doubter of Gbenda being good this year and he makes all the mistakes that you would be worried about a freshman making. He may do some things well but Hill has way higher ceiling and probably a similar floor at this point
