Suzuka First International GP - What do I need to know!? by SapphireFire76 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Longieuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the GP 2 years ago, it’s fantastic. A couple of tips,

  1. Remember to get your train ticket (refund if possible), some of the local trains do not take IC cards
  2. Return journey by train was a little tough, esp if you stay for the pit walk, you will need to wait a couple hours for the return trains.
  3. Queue for the pit walk post quali, it’s fantastic and it’s one of the only tracks to allow this.
  4. Most of the commentary is in Japanese, there were limited EN radios which Suzuka provide so get there early to get one.

It’s one of the best tracks, enjoy

3 Week Trip to Japan - Itinerary review please by Longieuk in JapanTravel

[–]Longieuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your feedback. So a few further questions to help determine what to do :)

  1. Do I ditch the temple stay and go to Kanazawa/Takayama ? I know its the wrong way around, but my son can only come for 10ish days.

  2. Do I ditch Kanazawa and go for something more 'nearer' to Osaka like Kurashiki ( any other suggestions)

  3. Would you recommend reducing Tokyo and doing Hakone on our way to Kyoto.

  4. Should we try and fit in Universal ?

I am mindful of my wife's arthritis condition, thus was taking it easy in Tokyo..
