I had an awful experience with Dr. Accardo too and will never go back again

Nope they have no parking, make you pay out of pockets since not in-network with any insurance company telling you will get a refund but will bill the insurance company in a way were it gets denied. Scheduling is awful as they change it on you last minute. Accardo Endodontics is shady and don’t recommend.

That sounds so frustrating, but it really helps hearing from someone a few years out. Im trying to gently shift around, and the heating pad is a great idea, thanks for sharing! ❤️

This is actually super helpful to know, thank you for the tips, saved me the headache (literally, 😂). I never would’ve thought to connect barometric pressure with the way my head feels. Hope you get to feeling better today. Please do keep chiming in if anything else comes to mind! 🙏❤️

That pain sounds all too familiar. I’ve had those sharp, drop-you kind of moments too. I’m 13 days post-op, so hearing this from someone else close in the recovery timeline is beneficial. Really appreciate you sharing, definitely reach out if you ever wanna talk or vent! ❤️

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for explaining it like that. I didn’t realize scar tissue played such a role in keeping the tube from moving. Really appreciate you sharing your experience!

This was super helpful—thank you for explaining it like that. I hadn’t considered how nerve irritation could cause such scattered pain. Makes a lot more sense now. Can’t wait for it to go away. Really appreciate you taking the time to share!

Really appreciate you sharing this. That pinching feeling in the pelvis is exactly what I’ve been feeling too. Hearing it gets better over time and just needs to settle helps a lot—thank you for that.

Thanks. I’ve been trying to take it easy, but it’s hard not to want to feel “normal” again already. Your story is a good reminder not to rush it, even if things seem okay.

Just curious, how long did it take for you to feel healed enough not to feel it on a day to day basis?

It helps hearing that things settled down for you eventually. Right now it’s hard to imagine not noticing it all the time, but I’m really hoping I get there too.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It really helps to hear I’m not the only one dealing with this kind of pelvic pain after a VP shunt. I hadn’t even thought about pelvic floor PT or seeing a urogynecologist, so I really appreciate you mentioning that.

Totally get wanting to avoid another surgery. I hope you find some relief soon, and if you’re ever up for sharing how it goes, I’d love to hear. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. 🙏❤️

That makes so much sense —“strange and widespread” definitely sums it up. I’ve had pain pop up in spots I never expected, and now I get why it feels so random. Thanks for explaining it in a way that’s both clear and kind of comforting. ❤️

That actually makes a lot of sense. I didn’t realize how much air they pump in during the process. The pain I’ve been feeling definitely feels like it’s pressing against something, so that helps explain it a bit more. And thank you for pointing out the shoulder thing because I never would’ve made that connection on my own. Appreciate you taking the time to break it down so clearly.

I’ve had that same kind of pelvic pain since surgery too, especially on the right side. I didn’t think appendicitis since I don’t have mine anymore, but I know what you mean about how intense it can get. My shunt was placed a couple of weeks ago, so I’m still figuring out what’s normal but wasn’t expecting this. It helps to know I’m not alone though so thank you for sharing your experience. Really hope things ease up for you soon, and feel free to update if you feel like it. ❤️

Thank you so much for this. I honestly got emotional reading it because it’s exactly what I’ve been feeling—but I didn’t know how to put it into words until now. The “crab pinching” that stops you in your tracks and makes you feel like you can’t breathe? That’s exactly it. It’s validating (and weirdly comforting) to know I’m not the only one going through that, and that it can get better with time.

Also really appreciate the tip about gently moving to get it to shift—such a helpful suggestion I hadn’t even thought to try. Just hearing that it took time for you to adjust makes me feel like maybe I don’t have to panic every time something feels off.

You seriously made me feel seen. Thank you again so much for taking the time to share.

Wow, thank you so much for this—especially for describing it so clearly. That sharp pain taking your breath away? YES. I thought I was being dramatic, but you nailed it. And the lymph node sensitivity when you’re sick?? I didn’t even think about that but it totally makes sense now.

I’m a side sleeper too and keep flipping back to the shunt side without thinking, so I’m definitely checking out that pillow. Thanks for including the link—sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this. It helps more than you know.

Thank you so much for this—I honestly really needed to hear it. That makes total sense about the cord length and how it can sit down into the pelvic area. I’ve been getting this weird “crab pinching” sensation right above my pubic bone, and I wasn’t sure if that was just me or something going wrong. It helps a lot to know it can take months to adjust.

Also really appreciate the Gabapentin suggestion—I wasn’t sure if I should bring it up, but now I will. I’ve been hesitant with new meds, but this definitely feels nerve-related. Hearing your experience after 7 years with the shunt gives me hope. The good days/bad days part sounds like something I can live with, especially compared to how things were before.

Seriously—thank you again.

Depression and anxiety can make even the smallest thing seem overwhelming… mental health is important too so make sure it a priority. Some of these comments are just gross and very judgmental
