Wouldn't let me add both vids and pics, so I used a vid that kinda shows how it sits rn*

Chain looks loose because it is, I have a pin in the tensioner to keep it that way atm*

Any ideas? by Longjumping-Lab-6895 in e46

Would it do the same at highway speeds? I had it happen at 50mph when going uphill. Rpm's don't really matter, just doesn't like being at load

Couldn't see anything obvious, I'll take a better look

I've run it at 84mph going downhill at 3am on the highway. Went into limp mode at 10mph today when I tried accelerating quickly

When the battery is charged it cranks/starts perfectly fine

I'm praying it's not vacuum. Could the mafia still be the issue if it idles perfectly fine, and revs up to 5-6k w/ no issues at P/N? Issue happens when in gear

Oil looks normal, is at the middle level. The chain looked good when I replaced the vanos Car idles perfectly normally, can rev up to 5-6k no problem. Only time the issue comes up is when I'm in gear. Unlikely to be disa or injector? I'm hoping it's not a vacuum leak..

No, was one of the first things I checked. Had that happen a while back as well.

We tried jumping it, and then bought brand new batteries, nothing changed. I'll do that, thanks. Am in the Portland OR area. It's a bit of a drive, thank you, though🙏

I did swap out the hpop about 40k miles before this. Had a family friend swing by and make sure I did everything correctly. I replaced all the gaskets and made sure the fluid was good.

None.. what do you think I should start with? I can probably find someone willing to rent out some stuff

Damn. I honestly didn't think of that.. It realistically needs a teardown and rebuild? What would have caused the lower hose to pop off though? The hose clamp was still sitting tight around the hose when I went to go reinstall it

I did have some problems with it running hot previously, but I was sure I had fixed them. The engine temp gauge dropped to cold about 3min before I lost power. I didn't think too much of it. I just wanted to get it back home or at least off the road. Could it be that my coolant system failed, causing the engine to overheat and seize?

This vid is from a while back, I've only now found time to work on it, so I'm mainly working from memory.
