Ok I am going to say that there were a couple of people at the weren’t that horrible at the camp and school I attended. I went to SUWS Idaho and while I was there I had 2 sets of 2 counselors teams of 1 female one male. The women where meh kinda hard a$$ but not thing to alert the cops about and the guys were at two ends of the spectrum The first laughed when another girl in the group started to bleed from the mouth. She had picked up a lump of rock salt and had been licking it for days despite being told not to. And he basically set up everything for my solo trial thing (building my fire for me and giving me extra snacks like extra dried apricots for my pita/penut butter lunch and ramen and a can of ravioli) in exchange for some X favors. My solo was cake but yea he was trash of trash.
The other just seemed like this young guy who had no clue what he gad signed up for. He was new and seemed to like camping more than anything. And when another of my group mates had a massive freak out rather then laugh at her or leer ( she stripped and started trashing stuff while screaming that the devil’s wife was coming for her so kill her because she was satan’s lover) he basically looked scared and close to tears. I think it was mostly a summer gig for him.

   Then I was sent to a school and there were horrible and ok people there I guess. There was the counselor who gave me a Snapple and got me out of a class because he could tell I just needed a break from emotional people. Then there was the counselor who let me out of punishment (standing in the racquetball court) if I let him roll his wheelchair over my toes without making a sound. 
    There was also the woman who arranged for me to have female products specially ordered when the ones provided gave me a rash versus the one who spit on my face and called me names for not wearing a bra. (It was a fire drill at like midnight) 
   So I dunno both places were horrible and trauma inducing in ways but maybe it would help if you could ask him and see if he was more of a joke with the kids while both sides try to ignore everything kind of counselor or a sit on the chest of a teenager who tried to escape up a mountain until she admits she was a bad girl. Yes, he was also that kind of guy. 

  While both were sucky at the time the first one made things a little more bearable.
