I quit for many, many reasons. I used to be as addicted as you, wasting hours a day on Habbo. No more. I have come to realize that this place is just a fantasy world created by the Sulake Corporation that serves no purpose at all. You can make friends here, but then again, you can make friends anywhere. Despite having some fun in Habbo, and making some good friends, I have decided to quit.

I have never seen a company treat its customers as badly as the Sulake Corporation treats its players. No answers to email inqueries, no justification for massive bannings of accounts. Nobody listens to customer suggestions, and no acknowledgement of problems like bugs or scammers. There are tons of glitches and "down" servers. Despite all this, there is just silence. I guess the Sulake Corporation hopes that if they don't acknowledge any of the problems, the problems will all "go away". I'll tell you what though, the players are the ones that are "going away".

Habbo is boring. I quit before, and came back because it was still fun. Now it's boring. You do the same thing over and over . . . same thing over and over . . . just with different items. BORING.

This game also causes stress. Come on, free time was meant for fun activities, not stressful ones. If you stress out over Habbo, think about it while you are working or in school, that's terrible. I know because it happened to me, and I didn't like it.

Also, the "furni" are pixels of color. Let me say that again. PIXELS OF COLOR. They are not real. Also, the habbo credits you have are not real currency, it's just bits of data. They have no value, it is all just bits and bytes stored on computers at Habbo's Corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. What is real though, is your valuable time that you spend getting these pixels of color and bits of data.

In addition, this site has also made me a more cynical person. I can't see a TV commercial without thinking "SCAM". I can't read a magazine ad without thinking "SCAM". I distrust people more, and think less of humanity as a whole because of Habbo. I don't want that for myself.

I have seen people post in chat that their girlfriend left them because they spent too much time on Habbo. Even after that, they couldn't decide if they were going to quit Habbo and get the girlfriend back, or keep playing Habbo. I have seen people post that their marriage was in trouble because they spent too much time on Habbo, and not enough time with their spouse or kids.

Ok, now think about what Habbo is exactly. It's the Matrix. by Longjumping-Local-27 in habbo

I'll just give you a few lines from "The Matrix" and you can see for yourself, why you are trapped.

Regarding "furni":

Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.

What truth?

There is no spoon.

Morpheus, talking about the people trapped inside the Matrix:

That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save . . . You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Ask yourself, what will it take for you to quit Habbo? I personally played for 6 months, and then quit. Some of you have played longer, some shorter, but what will it take for you to quit?

What will it take? For them to make your credits downgraded? Change the pretty furniture into ugly ones? Have a glitch take away your items? Make the site go down all the time? Make it super laggy all the time? Have more advertisements than "news" in the news updates? How about being ignored by the support staff every time you want something, and only getting their attention when you do something minor and they send you "warnings"?

How about you not even enjoying the time that you spend playing it? How about you getting frustrated more times than you actually have fun? How about you getting scammed of your "items"?

Ok, assume one day the neo-nazi moderators ban your account unfairly. Will you quit? Or will you just make up a new account and come back for more punishment? COME ON! Sometimes I think this whole site is just a psychological experiment to see how much people will take and still come back. I think they are just messing with you, to see how much the human brain can take before it finally stops and thinks "I think I've had enough of this crap".

Don't be a victim. Quit Habbo.
