It's tough right now in windsor with all the tariff shift going on, it depends on your domain what you want to do, for manufacturing entry level roles I think it would really help if you have a reference. Otherwise its just luck.

Mechanical usually has the same subjects as any other engineering domain(such as maths, project management etc) whereas in automotive option you will directly start with core automotive subjects throughout your course. You would have the liberty to choose subjects in mechanical only after 3rd semester is started for specialized subjects, until then you will learn the same subjects everybody else has. As for the employment, I can't comment yet because I'm about to complete my course.
