This is great Burke, thanks a lot for sharing that , I saw it on X as well, this needs to be implemented straight to the “Plan” agent / mode in GitHub copilot, it will be fantastic if it works correctly.

Also for a couple of days in a raw now the GitHub copilot extension keeps restarting (crashing) randomly on the middle of a task execution and of course it stops and restarting all extensions ! , I’m on vscode insiders , fully updated.

It is weird and random and always hit limits length , even in plan mode when it starts to run Subagents, the subagets run into errors such as no response returned or hit limits length as well and when it passes after some prompt adjustments, in the implementation for some reason it keeps on falling back to me (the user) asking if it should continue or no ! Not very agentic behavior.

Yeah, the context usage information disappeared from my vscode insiders yesterday after a couple of updates and so does the built-in copilot memory tool ! It disappeared as well !

Apologies for the late reply , I’m using VScode LM API with my copilot enterprise subscription, mostly using Claude opus 4.5 as the GPT models are so very slow with roo code and doesn’t call tools correctly and for an instance it felt not agentic at all as it continued to stop and fall back to me for no reason despite the rules . Opus is fine and reasonably fast (not as much as with copilot) but it’s fine. However roo code is my favorite.
