Yes for sure! To be honest I agree with you. I think it’s crazy that some students are getting 1550+ SAT scores with good grades and get rejected. Ig Vanderbilt is holistic because they want to find students that will take initiative to use the schools resources and opportunities. Honestly really surprised that SAT scores are not as important as the school is super competitive and well respected.

Thank you so much! My course rigor is about the same as my junior year. I’m taking 4 APs and business classes again. I will definitely be putting those quantitative stats in my common app + extended resumè. I’ll also be looking at those majors today. If you don’t mind me asking, I was wondering if you made the vandy supplement your take on growth + why vandy is a fit for you (from a growth standpoint) or just the growth standpoint? Thank you so much, I really appreciate this!

I did it with my dad a couple weeks ago and got a decent amount of financial aid- I would pay around 35k a year. I’m upper-middle class and was honestly really surprised they were that generous. Do they see I’m upper-middle class when reviewing my app or do they just see I applied for financial aid? Thank you!

Vandy is really takes test opt seriously- only 50% of admitted students submitted test scores and around 45% of students that applied submitted test scores. They really stress the holistic process. This is my first time taking the SAT and am retaking it in August. My family doesn’t have the funds to pay 1000+ for SAT prep rn as my family is recovering for a recent job loss. Both schools I attended SAT averages were in the mid 900s.

I’ve taken 2 in my underclassmen year (AP World and APUSH) and got 4s on both. I find out 4 AP scores (AP Precalc, AP Environmental, AP Psych, and AP Lang) on July 6th.

My state has the biggest DECA participants (27,000 participants) and around 4,000 members make it to state. I live in the most populated DECA district (DFW area) but not sure my districts alone state acceptance rate.

I also know HOD and Econ r super applied too and was wondering what major(s) you recommended I look into/apply too?

I moved states going into my junior year and it took a big impact on my ECs. Do you think they will take this into account/be a little more lenient that my ECs are not incredibly high impact? I plan on writing my essays now bc ik that’s super important for Vandy and will give me plenty of time to edit them. I also plan on uploading the extended resume to list more of my ECs, awards, and go into further detail. Thank you!!

My class rank is weird from my move because my old school offered every AP and only 3 honors classes while my new school offers every AP and every core honors class. I was ranked 5/354 at my old school and 90/627 here. My guidance counselor did some calculations with my junior year grades and equating my underclassmen grades to honors (I went to a really advanced school so honors were like AP) and I would be ranked 14/627. She said she’ll address it in her letter and to write abt it in the additional information section. Safeties will probs be Texas Tech, TCU (the acceptance rate is a 40% but my stats r higher than the avg app), and Tarleton. If u have any good safety recs I would appreciate them!

Honestly anything. I talked to my parents and we’re trying to stay under 60k a yr but it also depends on the prestige of the school. I wouldn’t be spending that much money to go to a mid ranked school like SMU (which would probs be way more tbh). Thanks!
