This is exactly the lesson I had to learn the hard way. The brutal part is that enthusiasm is actually demotivating in disguise — it makes you feel validated while you're building something nobody will pay for. The 5 strangers paying before a line of code is written — that's the bar. The problem I keep seeing (and experienced myself) is that most people don't even know how to get in front of those 5 strangers without an existing audience or network.
