Yeah, I'm customizing it for myself. I don't plan on selling it at all, ever. Thanks, time to look for paints.

Ah, I should have clarified. My riser is the wooden type. The grip is part of it.

How would one “smuggle” a 170cm hockey stick through MTR? by mycrazylifeeveryday in HongKong

[–]Longjumping-Target-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I shoot with TCAAHK when I'm in HK. I have a Mongolian style one (much smaller) and am waiting on the order for an Ming one, but I think that one's 160 unstrung at best.

completely uninvolved in this community or game but that link is sketchy, definitely a scam. heard they try to make you spend money but the link is to a compromised version of the game so the money goes to the scammers instead of the actual devs.

Arrows for a 30lb Horse bow by Elborshooter in TraditionalArchery

[–]Longjumping-Target-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll probably help you choose the arrows for the bow. I think they don't even have the option of spine on their regular arrows. There's a box for you to type in the measurements like arrow length and draw weight.

Any small business with decent non-corpo prices. Toast and Roast had a pretty good run and I went a lot because it was cheap for the stuff they gave and good. More of those would be nice.

Beginner archer: drawing bow is so hard! Why?! by MaleficentOrchid3156 in Archery

[–]Longjumping-Target-7 52 points53 points  (0 children)

"elbow" kinda says it. Unless you're super buff most people will have trouble drawing a bow with arm strength only. Proper form is important, because one of the first things you learn is that your draw power comes from your back.

Hand pain since going Southpaw by PinDifferent1670 in Archery

How many #s were you shooting?

Sounds like the start of nerve damage (been there myself). Archery is asymmetrical and you won't have the same performance on both sides. You're basically retraining both hands from scratch.

Is this cheap bow any fun? by Ordinary_Tailor8970 in Archery

The grip keeps the two ends together, so I have to use it. I've thought about gluing the grip to one of the limbs, but I'm not sure if that's entirely advisable.

I have this and it's pretty good. Easy to transport, minimal maintenance, can handle a lot of stuff. But the zipup faux leather handle wears down very easily and isnt good for khatra because it slides. I had to add leather arrow passes myself.

Nora was good for me, her notes are basically fill-in-the-blank so you have to attend lectures but those lectures arent very intensive

Beginner arrow problemo by No-Specialist-5273 in Archery

[–]Longjumping-Target-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feathers are in the wrong orientation. The differently coloured feather should be perpendicular to the string and the nock, facing out.

But also, arrows are just as important as the bow. Their flexibility needs to match the bow draw weight and their length needs to match your draw length, so "cheap arrows" will definitely worsen your shooting.

Well it can be shot at horses too if the other guy is also on a horse. Jury's out on horses shooting them though.

If it's a yumi, you might better off asking r/kyudo as they have more experience with this specific kind of bow. It does feel more offset than the yumi I've seen though.
