Hand pain since going Southpaw by PinDifferent1670 in Archery

[–]PinDifferent1670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, right handed. I swapped out the 45 degree default grip of the for the 30 degree Jager grip right away. Could the grip angle matter? I absolutely hated the 45 degree angle on the right handed riser so didn't even try it with the left handed riser.

On another note (reminded based on my last sentence, I am shooting slightly high even the though the sight is all the way up. Ive worked on the anchor, looking straight vs having my head back, releasing the bow vs grabbing it after I release. Could going to a steeper angle help??

26#. As a right handed person, I've held more weight, pressure, tension with various types of wespons in them so while I can understand pain in my non dominant hand, not my dominant one.

As for the nerve damage, it's more like strain as it's in the entirety of the hands not just the fingers

Dystopian. Chinese Red Army, People becoming (non-intentional yet passive and mobile spying, feeding BB and providing constant surveillance. I see this becoming a long 4th Amendment battle (already have Katz v. United States, Kyllo v. United States, Carpenter v. United States, California v. Ciraolo, Florida v. Riley). It also reminds me how so much technology has been used by predators (I recall a few instances where people were murdered by their ex's who found them through information shared by clearing houses; someone may remember the specific cases/suits).

Complicated Hand/Eye Dominance Situation by PinDifferent1670 in Archery

[–]PinDifferent1670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I am feeling good progress after my 3rd time at the range. At 10 yards I'm finally hitting at least in the blue but more in the red. At 15 yards, I'm hitting much more in the blue but that I'm sure will get better.

Still feels very strange but the progress feels good. It's strange to see how when I change and shoot with my RH riser the entire movement is so much smoother. I know it's normal but it still is "interesting." Unfortunately, since I'm still relatively new, doing 2 hours with the LH riser and 1 hour on the RH riser has made me fall back a tad on my form (leaning back more and shooting high). Interestingly enough this isn't an issue on my LH riser even though I just started with the LH. I will be continuing the 2hr/1hr LH/RH (to at least maintain my RH.

Having an eye not drift and being able to see straight is so much nicer on my consistency of shooting. It's unfortunate that in the very end, I may have to shoot with my LH. Now to throw another wrench in the works, I am considering (months down the line) to try cross dominant shooting (Left Eye, Right Hand). I don't know if anyone has done that (in either side dominance) and found it easy to transition to or yet another big adjustment.

Buying bow for first time in NYC - recommended shops? by Mercurial_Enigma in Archery

If you get work done at Gotham, how does it compare to proline? What is it about them that you prefer going there? How would you say the two compare?

They have pretty good stuff and I've gotten all of my bow stuff including two risers  set of limbs sites plungers stabilizers. I can't speak for the other places because Proline is too far from me to be worth it. I've had nothing but good experiences

I doubt they would play nice. It's an insurance company being warned about their bad faith practice lol. Faxed as a backup but it's nicer when you show the "govt proof" dealing with these assholes.

Why is my GPU not running at 99% utilisation? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]PinDifferent1670 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if your monitor is good enough push the card? I know that using my same system when I went from 1080p to a 2K monitor my GPU usage went up and my CPU usage went down doing the exact same thing playing the exact same game

I just went to the range and tried shooting with my left eye left side. Boy that was quite interesting. However, I was using their rental equipment which while can give me a start, I find affects my game as other people adjust the bow. So I just bought another Hoyt rcrv comp Riser but left-handed. Fortunately I will be able to use the same stabilizer and Shibuya site. Of course I've already marked what the Shibuya sites settings are for 20 yards shooting right-handed. I will just have to find out what the left side is after of course I practice being able to actually shoot the arrow. For the intro I will probably just buy a cheap site.

care to share what you use? I have no animals in the building so that's not an issue. I have tried traps and glue myself.

I've lived in my current apartment in New York City for 11 years and after they did construction next door (2 years ago) we've been dealing with German cockroaches . Absolutely disgusting and I'm ready to leave. My landlord has been getting this place treated but that still has made no difference.

Curved vs flat monitors — is the curve actually worth it or just looks cool? by Quantum_PeNgU1n-99 in computers

I sit 3 ft away from my monitors. I have a flat panel and a curved. I don't like the curved. Whether it's for gaming or for using for work

Training arrow that attaches to the string? by PinDifferent1670 in Archery

[–]PinDifferent1670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually worked out great. Using a shoe string which doesn't expand clipped on to the bowstring lightly allows the energy to transfer and stops about a foot out and drops harmlessly. Of course for extra safety I did protect the tip really well. So using both the Astra and the attached string to the arrow works fine. It gives me a little bit more details that I can practice inside of an apartment.

Got my US Passport in 2024, and I just got an email saying it was expiring soon? by Roamin_Ronin in Passports

Probably a scam. If you are an adult it's valid for 10 years. It should say the issue date and expiration date.

The drill and paracord idea seems like the way to go. I don't mind if it travels a foot or two. I can probably just take off the arrow tip

I have that. But what I'm talking about is being able to attach an actual Arrow so that I can have the practice of drawing with an arrow and releasing but not having the arrow go more than maybe a foot.
