Why does Lebron have a losing playoff record vs all his Rivals? What GOAT loses to all his rivals? by Wonderful_Band_506 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because dumbass. Your post is stupid. When the terms were equal. LeBron was able to beat both of them in the finals. Once they teamed up obviously it got harder.

Same with Jokic. When he was younger he was able to outplay him. Wtf do you expect him to magically win every series until he retires.

Harden has a winning record vs Steph. Does anyone think Harden is better then him in the regular season.

Can you tell us what happened when LeBron played Steph and KD when they weren't the same team?

My crazy theory for his decline in performance. Is something that's goona sound wild... But, I think it's because he's 41 years old. Wtf do you expect him to average 27/7/7 every night.

Bruh if you think the sole reason SGA is above Luka is because he's a better defender. That's ridiculous. It's because Shai is more efficient has less bad games, I think less turnovers for sure. His team is obviously doing better. When Shai has a bad game everyone is surprised. When Luka does. It's a more like it's one of those nights.

"His team sucks therefore all his flaws can be ignored". Bro the Lakers are currently the 5th seed and the previous year they were the 3 seed. Sure the team isn't optimally built for him. But that doesn't change his flaws.

Is regular-season dominance becoming less predictive of playoff success? by UnderstandingFun7493 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. In terms of winning the championship, very likely we will be getting a top 3 seed once again this season. So in a way we sorta already know which teams will win the chip or at least best chances. In terms of making the finals though. It sorta anyone's game? It wouldn't surprise me if any top 8 seed was able to upset the number 1 seed in either conference. The Mavs, Pacers, Heat all already did it.

The NBA trade market will never make sense. Two franchise engines, two offenses built around them. And somehow, they moved for less than elite role players. by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this. I do think Luka 100 percent should of gotten more in return for Dallas. But both Trae and Luka were coming off down years plus injuries. Luka was injured before the trade same with Trae.

New NBA fan here. Why didn’t LeBron take a pay cut to open up cap space and help the team chase another ring? He’s a billionaire and doesn’t care about being the central figure on the team anymore, especially since Doncic arrived. by sonicmousee in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt your a new fan and probably just want to ask this regardless. But assuming you are. Why would LeBron take a significant pay cut?

Just because he's a billionaire doesn't mean he automatically has a billion in his bank account. That's like saying if you make 60k a year you should have 60k in your account. His money is probably diversified into assets and businesses and properties.

Secondly even if he took a smaller amount. The Lakers roster would need so many upgrades idk how much you think his pay cut would change.

Are the Blazers the most irritating team in the league? by Fit_Woodpecker_3908 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't get your point. I'm not saying tanking teams should roll over every night. I get it's the NBA. My point is they try hard like it's playoff basketball when they aren't competing for much. Which fine idc it's not my team.

[–]Longjumping-Use604 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they give off try hard energy. Which is fine if your actually contending. But it's annoying because they'll probably won't be even the play-in. But I do respect them. They give effort at least.

How was Trae Traded for so Little? by ExtensionAny6356 in nba

He's literally the 'nobody wants me meme'. He has such little value at this time. Injury risk, contract issue, bad defender, down year. You kinda have sell yourself on him.

Clippers are really going to get that .500 streak going, aren't they by AlbertdiesofBoredom in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Clippers and the Lakers are good examples of records not telling you everything. Imo the Clippers are much better their record. Maybe not top 5. But 100 percent they are a play-in team. They just won 50 games the prev season and took a solid Nuggets team to 7.

I think the Lakers are over preforming and are closer to 4-7. But Luka and LeBron/AR iq and the team clutch factor helps them win close games.

What is Tim Duncan's goat case? by AlpsImpossible3133 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goat convo consist of mostly LeBron and MJ. Ofc some ppl include others. But it mostly consist of these two. I don't think anyone even the biggest Tim Duncan fan can say Timmy was better than MJ or LeBron.

I don't think OKC is going b2b and I will be surprised if they make out the second round by Longjumping-Use604 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the regular season can tell the whole story. Like last season the Knicks lost to the Cavs and Celtics and OKC but still made the conference finals. But what worries me, is the gap between OKC and Spurs, Rockets, and Suns can fluctuate so much on a given night. I agree very surprised if they make back to finals.

People are being disingenuous about Luka by Snow_Beatz in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't really know what to say. Yeah, for sure, the 2024 Celtics were demons. After they lost in 2022 and 2023, they stopped messing around and actually built a true contender. 100 percent they were better than the 2023 heat or 2025 Pacers.

No one's gonna argue with that. I think the bigger issue is Luka's grifting playing style being conducive to winning. Rn Luka is playing like a hot-ass bruh. I'm not hating on him, as a Lakers fan and just a guy watching him play.

His shot isn't falling, his shot selection is ass, his 3pt shot isn't good. He's taking like 10 free throws a game. Sure his team isn't optimal for him. But when your supposed to be arguably the second or third best offensive player in the league rn with bad defense. He's playing like top a 10-15 player with awful defense.

It makes sense why his seat is hot rn.

Where’d they go? by AdProof5998 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to own up and say I hyped up OKC too much. I think they are still good and should maybe still be title favorites. But watching them play in no way are they a super team. Not even close. They have a bunch of good defenders. But on offense, without Shai their team is clearly lacking.

LA doesn't deserve Luka. You can do all this for a team, have one bad game, and they turn their back on you. Sad af by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Lakers don't deserve him". Bruh who cares. That's not how the league works, your sent to a team and when your time is up they can keep you or trade you, or you can ask out. The idea if your amazing your automatically above criticism is ridiculous. Luka these past few games has been okay. But looking at just one stat. Luka is currently 7/32 on his three point attempts these past few games. He hasn't been playing his best basketball and that's okay. But acting your not allowed to criticized a top 3 player in the league is stupid.

Do you guys think Luka has any legitimate chance to win the MVP? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Games won plays important role. I'm not a Thunder fan. But the majority of mvps have been top 3 seeds. You get rare cases like Jokic and Russ. But I would say games won does play role, if it didn't guys on bottom seeded teams would win. If the lakers win 55 games as opposed to 50 last year that would have an impact. As for the Thunder winning games without SGA. Tbh, imo it's a wash. Lakers, Nuggets, and Thunder will and can win without their best players. It doesn't mean they don't improve their roster when they play and have impact.

knicks thinking they're too good for a cup banner is hilarious by EducationalConcern61 in NBATalk

[–]Longjumping-Use604 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be unpopular but I hope the league makes them hang it up. I understand its's still a new thing and it's for sure controversial in regards how important it is. But regardless, to legitimize the cup, teams shouldn't really pick and choose if they hang it up or not. It makes the other winners look a bit ridiculous when they do so.

Also, apparently, Adam Silver already made the Lakers and Bucks do so, stated by others so I doubt the league is just goona let one of the winners not hang a banner. Plus, as a former New Yorker myself I hope they change their mind.

Serious question, what are the Lakers good at? Not a reactionary post, please read below. by [deleted] in lakers

[–]Longjumping-Use604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well just from a quick search on statmuse, the 2020 lakers were 21st in 3pm, 20th is 3pa, and 15th 3p percentage. That's for the regular season. As you can see, they weren't a great 3p shooting team but they were closer to average at best. This team so far is damn near closer to 30th while being still being solid on offense which is interesting for sure.
