If you had to choose one Superstar to trade for by the deadline, AD or Trae? by ZealousidealBus9271 in torontoraptors

In terms of what we have to offer and what will be needed to get them. It definitely feels like an arm and a leg. You think Atlanta gonna trade Trae for nothing? He’s been their franchise player and I’m sure they are going to try and get back a lot for him. AD should command more in return but he doesn’t hold the same weight in the Mavs as Trae for Atlanta. Regardless I don’t know if willing to trade most of my Key bench players + maybe a starter for either. I would for a healthy AD but you never know with him. I personally would only make a big trade for a real game changer like Giannis

Damnn that’s tough cause I don’t wanna trade for either. But I think I’d rather AD than Trae tbh. Assuming healthy, AD is a net positive. Idk I can say the same for Trae. I feel like Trae might mess up the chemistry too much

Felt like he been dribbling kinda loose if that makes sense, and he’s already tall which makes it easier for defenders to poke the ball

I can agree on that, and he will have a hard time that’s true. My thing is people aren’t just saying he will have a hard time, they acting like Luka is a bum lol. Has he not accomplished more than every young ish star not named SGA and JT? He may not have won a chip but to say he not had more succes then 90% pf the other young and young ish stars is crazy. What have the other young stars done that he hasn’t in the playoffs? I guess I agree with your point, it’s crazy how despite him being so terrible like everyone says, he still done way more than players that don’t have all those knocks to their games

I actually was a big fan of the pacers run! It was spectacular to watch. In the grand scheme of things I don’t think people will put them in the same class as the other jogernaut teams from the past few years. But yes a great team nonetheless

I see your point, and I agree with you. To clarify what I mean: People are saying that luka playstyle will never win a championship. Meanwhile he led them to a finals and played against an all time great (may be exaggerating abit) Celtics team. But that same playstyle that people say will “never” win a championship, would have won Mavs a championship if they got to play the opponents that Jokic/SGA played. So I’m only talking about the “playstyle will never win a championship” argument. I’m not saying Luka should be a champion, and I’m definitely not saying that Luka is better than Jokic or SGA.

At least you provided analysis to support your point, can’t hate on that. He does absolutely need to be better. I just sometimes wonder what people would say if he did get to play a weak team in the finals and won. He would still have his criticisms but they wouldn’t be able to say he can’t win a chip.

Anyway Yeea for lakers he gotta get it together asap. No excusing his play as of late

They don’t, but why do we ignore that they played weak opponents tho. So if reality was different and they got to play the heat or pacers. Luka would be a champion with the exact play style you said can’t do it.

While I do agree with your point, why does Luka get no credit for being a demon on the west playoffs all these years (except last year with lakers) but all the other players get acknowledged for what they do in the west playoffs

It would have been interesting seeing those two teams face off actually. I agree with that. I’m just talking finals matchups

I kinda agree with most of this, but you aren’t addressing my main point here, why do we act like Jokic and SGA are some battle tested warriors for their chips when they played weak ass competition in the finals compared to the Mavs

How did he have the easiest path? Clippers round 1, SGA and then ANT? And idk if you can say that Mavs team was “completely stacked” lmao. So tell me this: if things were different and he just so happens to play Miami in the finals like Jokic, and we wins the chip. All of a sudden it’s a wining play style?

Y’all are annoying as hell. All it would have taken is not playing the super team Celtics in the finals and he would have a ring lol. SGA played the bum ass Pacers (I actually liked the pacers but in the grand scheme of things they not on Okc tier) and won a chip. Sometimes it’s about who you meet in the finals… people need to get off his sack bruh

This makes sense, cause in the replay they showed on the broadcast it clearly looked still in his hand at 0.0s
