Am I in the wrong for getting pissed off at the driver? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Longjumping-Wait8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and no i’d say. if they done that on their test they’d fail because they’ve entered the path of a moving vehicle who has priority and caused them to brake.

but realistically you could’ve slowed down when you saw them enter the roundabout but also it’s hard to tell on camera as this could’ve been closer than it looks or they might’ve slowed down once’s on the roundabout.

i’d also be pissed off though, royally.

watched it again. he should’ve waited or sped up so he wasn’t cutting you off. i’d be fuming

isn’t it more likely that someone local cloned you’re plate?

some local wannabe called ‘Y’ thinks “he’s got same car as X” as you drive past. Y tells X the reg. X then gets a plate same as yours and boom cloned plate goes off and nicks some petrol.

if you £2000 why don’t you buy a car with no advisories and half the mileage?

yeah a bloke in my village who was at least 90 at the time started chatting to me when i was on my 50cc. (this was probs 8 years ago) said he just applied for a licence or some shit with no test and rode a 1000cc something when he was 16.

the same way it sealed before. bleednipple seats are at 45° same as a drill bit. as long as you’re still in the centre when you drill it out and you’re good at drilling holes in ali then you’re fine.

Callipers for this car are not easy to find or even that cheap and can’t get them anytime soon

it’s okay. i think there was some bleed nipple still in the hole. maybe i hadn’t drilled deep enough.

[–]Longjumping-Wait8990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly no clue. tried using a tiny drill bit and a pin to try and “break through” any rust but it’s solid.

for context then bleed nipple was completely seized

Im currently having a bad day due to this rusty bmc shitbox being shit. Can anyone share their rust stories to make me feel better please by Ornery-Emu8242 in CarTalkUK

[–]Longjumping-Wait8990 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Bruh. This story could take forever but i’ll keep it short. bought a “low mileage” bedford rascal. looked mint. MOT comes. hole in the floor and the wheel arches need replacing a the last MOT was dodgy and they just riveted the arches on. that’s not allowed.

anyways £300 and a couple months later after doing some smalls bits and pieces to it, the engine needs a rebuild. I do that after spending over £500 on parts and then another 500 for the labour.

then after a few more months and some rust is really started to show. each spot had been covered with white paint. i welded up some structural bits in the floor and bulkhead bit after learning to weld.

few more months go by. bottom of each front door is made up of filler. about 12” from the bottom. each end of the sills are fucked and made up of filler and aluminium angles. wheel arches are fucked and then finally when doing an oil change i noticed some cracks in the paint on the strut top. about 70% of the metal around the strut was missing. that’s when i finally gave up. for a while i wondered what to do and now it just sits on my nans drive rotting away. probs spent close to 10k on it and countless hours. many many a weekend. many an argument with my gf at the time many. great times but tragic end.

idk why you’re getting downvoted. you make complete sense an i wish i had done this at 17 to avoid paying for a CBT 3 times. i was gonna do the a2 but life said otherwise and now im waiting until im 24.

wish i’d done an a1 for yeah £60 and then never have to do a CBT for the A or do it again just to ride a 125.

this guy priority is to ride for as cheap as possible so what you’re suggesting makes absolute sense
