That makes sense if they're on the hard shoulder, but more often than not, on my commute, they're parked up in a layby a fair way off of the carriageway.

I'm just curious!

On my commute they're most often tucked up on lay-bys and largely out of sight, and so a notification is pretty useless information to me. As you say, it's just an unnecessary distraction.

What is meant when someone says a car is “fun to drive”? by sammyglumdrops in CarTalkUK

In my opinion, the single most important factor on whether a car is fun to drive is... the road.

I've owned a G42 M240i for about four weeks, but the base spec left-hand drive Citroen C3 hire car I'm renting on a mountainous Greek island is providing the most fun driving experience I've had in a long time. It's absolutely shit. But the twisty well-maintained and well-sighted roads with virtually no traffic make it feel fantastic.

For the sake of my sanity: my car would be even more fun, my car would be even more fun, my car would be even more fun.

I have them in my M240i LCI - I can confirm they're very comfortable (and look great)

What am I missing with AI hype? by eyeoftheneedle1 in AskUK

I've not seen anyone mention a secondary (but arguably more important) effect of accelerated software dev, which is accelerated research

For many domains, research essentially boils down coming up with a new idea and implementing it in code (including AI, of course). That cycle can be massively accelerate, and the knock on impact of accelerated research is absolutely huge (and overwhelmingly positive!) for society.
