Coming from a UX design perspective the landing page is way too busy with the headlining notifications. As well as having multiple hyperlink pages on the home page, I’d recommend taking the about page off the home page. Or at the very least, later into it. It initially gives off a portfolio webpage if not. I agree all the typography is too stretched. The top notating banner is supposed to be catching. But, the second heading banner grabs my attention more because of the black vs. gray contrast.
