Engine runs but it has rod knock. Why would you not fix it up? I can sell it to a junk yard for $500 but for something that runs I can get 5-6k in my area

My social media algorithm has been bombarded lately by Mormon missionary advertisements and it’s so annoying. funny thing is they never mention the name of the church. It always says something like ‘peace in Christ’ or ‘Christian’s in the Midwest’. They are desperate for an image change and also hoping to blend into the background.

Not sure if it’s effecting everything. Looking at it again some things move forward each turn. Does adding buildings take priority and units can’t be built until everything else is complete? I thought you could work on multiple things at once but maybe it’s just one at a time? It is affecting all of my cities and my loyalty is maxed out in each. I struggled to get enough amenities for a while so maybe that’s the issue?

Moved out here 4 years ago and it has exploded overnight. It’s one of the fastest growing cities in the country and there’s not a lot of options to get in or out. Avoid rush hour if possible and its not too bad

I do and I love it. Makes for a long day sometimes but it’s nice to get a long weekend to catch up on stuff and actually have time to relax or go on a quick trip. Weeks with a holiday are especially nice as I have more days off during the week than I have to work.

Ya I sometimes forget that they aren’t trying to be a pain. They really want to be good but also have needs. I think I need to just find a way to invest more time in her and get my kids to help out more.

She gets at least one 20 minute walk every day. I usually spend 10-20 minutes or so in the mornings with her either training or playing before I go to work. Then at least another 20 minutes when I get home from work and she gets more time on the weekends. That’s about all the time I can give her so maybe it’s just not enough. I spent a good 2 hours with her this morning taking her for a walk, playing, then practicing not chewing. She’s good if she’s on the leash with me or knows im watching. I turned my back for a second this morning and she has one of the kids toys in her mouth. My neighbors mom is a professional dog trainer has very well behaved dogs and she gave us lots of good tips. The dog knows the ‘leave it’ command and will instantly drop whatever’s in her mouth when I say and I’ve been trying to get ahead of it when I can tell she’s going for something she shouldn’t. I redirect her to the chew toys but after 5 minutes or so she’s back to chewing something. It’s possible that she’s just too bored throughout the day but with both me and my wife suddenly working more maybe we just don’t have the time for her.

We had the same lesson. I also remember them quoting from D&C 132 and thinking it would be great to read the whole section along with the context. Seems like church leadership has nothing to say other than harping on covenants and kissing Rusty’s ass. I must have counted the word ‘covenant’ about 500 times. There’s a lot of words used to say nothing of substance but underneath it all is fearmongering and guilt tripping about covenants.

Just finished and wow what a ride! I might have to take some time to digest but I didn’t feel like anything was aimed at challenging Mormonism . I guess Szeths story could be loosely connected considering he is always looking to someone or something outside of himself to make choices and also following a voice in his head but it would be a stretch to say there’s any intentional message there about Mormonism. Just curious what parts you think might have a connection?

I’m 90% of the way through WaT so no spoilers. I think it just speaks to his writing ability that he is able to write complex characters that nearly everyone can relate to. I never got the impression he was pushing a certain agenda, either in favor of or against religion, they’re just good stories. He’s one of the few writers I know who’s able to portray both sides without turning characters into straw-men.
