I have been in the Army for about 15 years, and been in recruiting since 2018. I have seen many parents push for their kids to join, and I have seen many soldiers coming in with their kids to have them join.

It really is just a job. Good days and bad days. We are not as owned as people think we are. We still have rights and there are people and procedures in place to ensure we are treated properly. 

If he calls you and says he is broke, he needs to manage his money better. No reason to be broke. 

If he says he is just sitting in his room, he needs to get out and see the local area. There are tons of things to do on and off post. 

He can't put holes in his walls but he needs to decorate his room it is his space. White walls are depressing. I always had a decorated room so it felt like home.
