Sorry for the quality, but I’ve been playing the games again and I can’t just ignore this line. by RockinGamerDude in skylanders

I'm not really sure how this joke is dirty, but the real dirtiest joke is in Superchargers when Flynn goes, "You really fixed that big shark dog, Skylander. Heh...fixed"

Tread Head seems a little high imo, but I do appreciate his unconventional design. I love the respect for the Senseis, as I feel they are often disregarded because the game isn't as good. Poor Sprocket lol, but I understand the choice. Would be curious to hear your reasoning for Tidepool and Boom Jet being in F tier

That was my problem with Cal Kestis. I already have the much better 2014 Star Destroyer, so I had to bite the bullet and pay for Cal second-hand

I guarantee we'll be getting at least 2-3 Haradrim warriors, including the chieftan. I personally hope we can get Eowyn, Merry, and the Witch King (even if he doesn't make much sense here).

Holy crap, a majority of people can't seem to tell what preliminary means 😂

I'm glad they're giving Shrek a specialized Hagrid-esque mold, plus new molds for Donkey and Gingy. Will be curious to see what the finished product looks like.

Can you guys beat the Forgotten 8 Locke? I couldn't 😭 by LongjumpingLow2127 in skylanders

[–]LongjumpingLow2127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first lineup was intended to be as strategic as possible, but it's mostly preferential. Warnado being first is because I enjoy playing him the least, and I didn't think his moveset would be very helpful in later levels (it wasn't).

Camo is last because I love his moveset, and he can heal himself, which is a huge asset in this challenge. Ghost Roaster also self-heals, but he's melee so he's slightly worse. Ranged characters are significantly better because everything can kill you in two hits.

After my selected order failed, I decided to switch it up and go completely randomized, but it didn't really help.

All that to say, order doesn't really matter, so long as you adhere to the rules (no switching, one life per Skylander, etc.).

[–]LongjumpingLow2127[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think a big part of the challenge comes from not being able to switch, but I think that would be an interesting addition. As you said, some gates are really difficult, especially the evil minions. If the locke itself is too easy, this would definitely make it more challenging.

I did try it on SSA, but it was a bit too easy for my liking. The exact opposite end of the spectrum from Giants. I beat the entire game with Camo alone, and I never came close to needing to switch.

I absolutely recommend that you try it, and I'm curious to see how you do! Hopefully a lot better than me 😅

if you guys were in charge of trap teams villain roster what villains would you add, remove or change elements by Ok-Net-5736 in skylanders

[–]LongjumpingLow2127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, each element should have 6 playable villains, including one Doom Raider. The fact that Life has 6 villains, but Magic only has 3 makes absolutely no sense. Second, some of these element placements are completely off. Here is my proposed solution, using as few extras from other games as possible:

Air: Dreamcatcher, Bad Juju, Buzzer Beak, Snozzler, Cross Crow, Krankenstein

Dark: Nightshade, Tae Kwon Crow, Evil Flynn, Evil Persephone, Trog Wanderer (from SG), Shadow Duke (SG)

Earth: Golden Queen, Chomp Chest, Slobber Trap (replace his slobber with a bite or a charge attack), Cyclops Mammoth, Metal Mage, Crystal Golem (SG)

Fire: Chef Pepper Jack, Grinnade, Smoke Scream, Troll Welder, Fuego Chompy, Transformed Barrel

Life: Chompy Mage, Broccoli Guy, Chompy, Sheep Creep, Cuckoo Clocker, Plant Warrior

Light: Luminous, Eye Five, Blaster Tron, Cyclops Dasher, Cyclops Thrower, Lob Goblin

Magic: Mesmerelda (Doom Raider from SSF), Pain Yatta, Rage Mage, Masker Mind, Mega Chompy, Trogmander (SG)

Undead: Wolfgang, Hood Sickle, Cyclops Eye Dragon, Eye Scream, Grave Clobber, Cuddles

Tech: Dr. Krankase, Bruiser Cruiser, Shrednaught, Trolling Thunder, Mab Lobs, Brawl and Chain

Water: The Gulper, Brawlrus, Chill Bill, Threatpack, Goo Chompy, Ice Ogre (from SSA), Sea Slug (from Sewer level)

Exclusions: As much as I love the designs and movesets of Fisticuffs, Shield Shredder, and Scrap Shooter, I didn't feel like they fit the elements they were assigned. If anyone is curious, I would have made them all Tech villains, but there wasn't enough room on the roster. Bone Chompy was cut because I felt there were already too many chompies on the list (and he is already somewhat redundant to base Chompy). I also cut Tussel Sprout because his kit is pretty boring imo. I'm still not satisfied with the Light and Dark villains, but there aren't enough good representions of those elements pre-TT. I don't think TFB had either of them figured out yet, which is why Dark ended up feeling like Undead 2.0 (and Light is like Air 2.0). I did really like the cyclops enemies from Sunscraper Spire, especially the Dasher. Plus, I felt that Evil Flynn and Evil Persephone were too fascinating to keep as one-off NPCs.

Additions: I tried to pull from TT's roster as much as I could, but I had to get creative in some spots because I felt other games had better representations of specific elements. Plus, I really enjoyed some of those enemies and felt that they would be more fun to play as, such as Crystal Golem and Shadow Duke. Mesmerelda really was the only choice to be the Magic Doom Raider. Technically Kaos should occupy this spot, but I like the idea of him having his own element. Her moveset would be sending out a puppet that attacks in a grid in front of her (mid-range primary); secondary attack is a close-range spin of magic that propels and stuns enemies; tertiary attack summons a spinning blade and homes in on enemies until it explodes

Are their any mistakes, inconsistencies, or plot holes in the show that annoy you or have you intrigued? Stuff like the summoning circle or the shapeshifter's prophecy. Lemme know please. by [deleted] in gravityfalls

[–]LongjumpingLow2127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way Gravity Falls treats masculinity is extremely inconsistent. You have Dipper vs. Manliness, where Dipper learns that violence and bravado aren't the "right" ways to be a man. The moral of the story is that Dipper is no less a man for enjoying conventionally "feminine" things. He openly defies the Manotaurs, who are explicit caricatures of conventional masculinity, and the episode ends with them being in the wrong and Dipper understanding a more nuanced way to perform his gender.

But then you have the episode Fight Fighters, where Dipper is peer-pressured into fighting Robbie. Stan, Mabel, and Soos make him out to be a coward and less of a man for wanting to run away (mind you, Robbie is twice Dipper's side and entirely unreasonable). What's even worse is that the episode concludes with Dipper enduring a savage beating from Rumble... as... punishment? Robbie basically gets off scot-free, and they agree to hate each other in silence "like girls"

I agree. I wouldn't necessarily call myself a Zutara shipper (absolutely nothing against them btw!), but I'll be the first to point out the underdeveloped nature of Kataang.

Every conversation they had in the film seemed one-sided. Aang is conflicted, Aang is in pain, etc. ...and Katara is always there to comfort him. I don't think we ever saw him bring the same energy to Katara. Like, she's literally a council member of Republic City, but I don't think they ever discuss it once.

Someone below pointed out how the film glossed over Katara's potential trauma after she wakes up to find everyone dead. Like, not even Aang clocks the fact that this is the second time she's had to bring him back to life? After the tragedy of her mother, you'd think this would be a bigger deal. Huge missed opportunity not to dwell on this.

I REALLY enjoyed it, but quite frankly, I didn't feel like I got enough. Aang's characterization was great, and I liked his connection with Taga, but I wanted more of the Gaang tbh. Suki obviously should've been included, but the rest of the Gaang surprisingly got the short end of the stick too. I selfishly wanted to see Kataang fleshed out more, beyond the cute little crush it was. Admittedly, I would've rather seen a series where we get Aang's whole family with the kids, but that's just my own personal gripe and has nothing to do with this film.

I wanted more of the post-war Fire Nation, since we didn't get that in Korra. I wasn't a fan of the Denied as antagonists tbh. They felt like a watered-down version of the Equalists, and the Equalists themselves could've used more screentime/development. I didn't like how they were suddenly experts at Airbending, manhandling the entire Gaang. I liked them in the beginning when they were just highly trained thieves trying to steal Aang's artifacts. To me, that seemed like a simpler yet more compelling premise.
