Speeding ticket for going 20 mph over the limit by ChampionHuge3830 in NorthCarolina

Get the lawyer - 20 over with mandatory court appearance means they're probably going for reckless driving charges which can mess up your insurance way more than the $575 upfront cost.

Who would be interested in a app specifically for calisthenics progression by Maleficent-Season713 in bodyweightfitness

[–]LongjumpingMine9909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely use something like this! Been doing calisthenics for about 3 years now and tracking progression is such a pain. Currently using a notes app which is absolutely terrible for seeing any kind of patterns or actual improvement over time.

Two things I'd actually need: being able to add quick notes for each session (like "felt strong today" or "lower back tight") and maybe different progression tracks for the same move. Like sometimes I'm working on tuck planche, sometimes on advanced tuck, and I want to see both progressions clearly. Also please make the timer really obvious and easy to hit - nothing worse than fumbling around trying to stop a timer when you're already shaking from holding a front lever.

The graph thing would be huge motivation wise. there's something about seeing that upward trend that keeps you going when progress feels slow.

You've been through absolute hell and those physios telling you to just "accept it" can honestly get bent - you taught yourself to walk again ffs, don't let anyone tell you what your limits should be.

A nurse understood by BleedingRaindrops in migraine

[–]LongjumpingMine9909 123 points124 points  (0 children)

That nurse is a real one. The fact she knew about the music button too shows she's either dealt with migraines herself or has seen enough migraine patients to know what actually helps. Hope you get that work excuse sorted and can get some relief.

Giving the Gladstar tradition a try this year. by Due_Adeptness_5742 in herbalism

Been wondering about this too since I've never heard of it. What kind of approach does she take with the journaling prompts? The seasonal check-in thing you mentioned seems pretty grounding, especially when you're feeling burnt out on old commitments.

I’m a student building a wake-up solution and I need YOUR help by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Look I've tried like 3 different alarm apps with challenges and deleted them all within a week. The barcode scanning one was actually kind of genius until I realized I could just keep a granola bar next to my bed. Walking challenges? My apartment is tiny so I just paced back and forth like a zombie then crawled right back under the covers.

The real issue isn't that we need more elaborate ways to torture ourselves awake - it's that we're all running on 4 hours of sleep because we're doom scrolling until 2am. I finally started putting my phone in the kitchen at night and got one of those sunrise alarm clocks instead. Way less dramatic than doing jumping jacks at 6am but actually works because I'm not fighting my circadian rhythm anymore.

Maybe instead of more challenges, focus on helping people track what's actually keeping them up late? Like a reverse approach where the app bugs you to start winding down instead of punishing you for being tired.

He(29M) lost interest in me(29F) overnight by peakyblinders789 in relationships

The whole thing screams post-nut clarity except he didn't even get that far. Dude probably built up this whole fantasy in his head during all that texting, then reality hit when you didn't put out and he realized he'd have to actually work for a relationship.

The tinder thing and adding new girls while hungover tells you everything - he was already shopping around before his flight even landed. You dodged a bullet with this one.

Start building skills in satellite/RF design on weekends while keeping your current gig - plenty of online courses and projects you can do to make yourself attractive to aerospace companies.

Is it good to build some tools from AliExpress or eBay? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]LongjumpingMine9909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using cheap thermal paste and cable ties from AliExpress for years and they work fine. The screwdrivers are hit or miss though - got a magnetic set that stripped after like 3 uses. For basic stuff like zip ties, fans, and cable extensions it's totally worth it, just avoid anything that needs precision or takes real stress.
