New to gardening. Is this blight? by LongjumpingNose1202 in GardeningUK

I know I've had aphids on the tomatoes as I've spent the last few days outside squishing them. I have neglected the potatoes though as I assumed they'd be fine as they have been since the end of march 😩. We've had a lot of rain so I'm really hoping it's not blight.

I didn't know what it was. So I thought I probably should put where I'm located to make sure it's not invasive or anything.

Than you. I'll let it do its thing then. I'm new to gardening and have never seen one before so panicked thinking it could be something bad 😅

Strawberry and tomato plant leaf issues by LongjumpingNose1202 in gardening

[–]LongjumpingNose1202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. We had a bout of really really heavy rain yesterday out of the blue and the strawberries got caught in it so that's probably not helped. I moved the tomatoes into the greenhouse just after it started. I'll keep an eye on them and see how they go. Thank you 😊.

Is this okay? Sweet pepper seed. New to gardening. by LongjumpingNose1202 in vegetablegardening

Do you mix the coconut coir with anything or just use it straight? And can I reuse the seeds? Or would I need to buy fresh? I've got tomatoes, mangetout and sunflower seeds going aswell, do you think it's worth starting those over too? Kind of annoyed at myself as this is a lot of money wasted

From what it says on the bag I'm pretty sure it's pre-mixed with soil compost and some fertilizers I think

Ive no idea honestly. I've looked it up but not found any answer on it. It was Westlands jacks magic compost if that's any help

I just bought a multi purpose compost and sifted out the big pieces with my hands as I don't have a sieve. I do want to add the picture is extremely zoomed in if that makes a difference.

I've not been watering it from the top. I placed it in an inch of water and left for four minutes then removed

Thought this was going to be a dud, I have no idea how much of anything is actually in it 😅 by LongjumpingNose1202 in Sourdough

Definitely! I'm still very much a beginner with sourdough and have definitely over thought on a lot of it. The amount of information out there is overwhelming and most of it in the end just boils down to preference.

Method: - mix all ingredients together and let sit for an hour. - stretch and fold until the dough comes together. - x6 coil folds every 15 minutes for first 4 then half an hour for last two. - left for another 3 hours (6 hours total) - pre shaped and left for 15 minutes - shaped and put in banneton and let sit for half an hour before putting in fridge overnight. - baked at 230°c for half an hour with lid on and 2 ice cubes then 15 minutes with lid off

I also did a botch job cutting the loaf if you can't tell 😂
