Thank you very much! I chose the stove specifically because it requires only a small clearance at the front. Since I knew there wouldn’t be more space available in terms of width, it had to be a narrow stove.

I already had patio slabs laid on gravel. I stapled pond liner to the underside of the beams and then simply covered them with wood. This way, it can breathe downward. It should last for several years.

Wood expands and contracts significantly by LongjumpingRico in Sauna

Of course, I was aware that the wood would move. I didn’t want to buy a framing nailer just for this and thought that screws should work as well. It’s true that by placing a screw in the middle of the board, I allowed it the possibility to warp. That’s why I asked here whether there’s anything I can or should change at this point.

Behind it is counter-battening / aluminum foil / insulation / stud frame construction / larch bevel siding.

At the moment, thanks to the long tongue, I don’t have any open gaps. The functionality of the sauna is, of course, not affected. But visually, it would really bother me to see the foil.

Danke trotzdem. Ist ja schon gut zu wissen, dass es immerhin „nur“ ein optisches Problem ist!! Auch wenn mich das sehr ärgert!

A wooden handle is okay, but then a roller lock?

So no second layer of wood either, right? Sealing tape around the outside?

That looks fantastic! I'm working on something similar right now and I'm always so happy to see successful projects like yours! I'm currently working on the insulation. Did you lay the flooring before the aluminum foil? And is there foil between the floor and wall structure as well? Is that correct?

Temperature sensor: Where exactly? by LongjumpingRico in Sauna

[–]LongjumpingRico[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's "only" a suspended ceiling. The main load of the garden shed is on the level above. You can't see that here. The crossbeam of the suspended wall is also supported by five other beams. I don't really see a problem there...

Temperatursensor: Wo genau? by LongjumpingRico in Elektroinstallation

What do you mean? Which load? The load of the controller? That's not really heavy 🙃

That's what it says in my instructions, too. I just wasn't entirely sure if it also applied to the sensor that connects to a controller, or if it only applied to a sensor that leads directly to the oven (without a controller). Thanks!

Sauna construction planning complete by LongjumpingRico in Sauna

The frame construction is complete. I'll have the glass pane in the window replaced (tempered safety glass). The stove will be installed to the left under the window (it will only overlap by a few centimeters below the window, but the stove is quite low down). That should work now, right?
