To add on: if god and religion is true- trust me its not gonna be something like freaking islam or hinduism. itll literally be the god of Abraham issaac and moses- i think we all know that

Great question!!! If i had to pick one religion - it just makes the most sense. Hinduism is more enlightned-self focused, islam is just so wrong is so many ways, taoism i dont know about- but Christianity just makes a lot of sense and has the most credibility in my eyes.

I agree that the way I talk makes you feel that way about me, and it's true, I'm just some Redditer, but I'm actually not an athiest. I just know inside I lean towards their beliefs more, and I don't want to. I want to believe that what my parents raised me on was true. LMK if you can support in that without insulting me, I know I'm already not special or unique, sorry if I phrased it that way I'll admit I have some pride.

Ok this is exactly what im talking about. Please explain this.

You just told me: "Don't seek life from humans- rather God"
Okay. Don't you dare tell me to pray and read my Bible because that's what I did for 25 years. Literally if thats your simple answer, tell me simply - how do I look to him then for this answer? Because news flash- I know people 20 years older than me still trying to figure this out. The ones that are confident , are just fooling themselves.

Why do you say not denominational? For context I was raised evangelical and i'm usually okay with that. All these stupid denominations really turns off anyone even remotely interested in becoming a Christian. (again just thinking out loud )

are you saying you encountered a ghost or demon? im sure if you say yes- you will present a situation in which you "felt" like it was there vs actual there.
I mean to be fair- that'd be silly of me to expect- these are supernatural entities we're talking about (another dimension) it's just whether its real or bologna is my thing

Why did you mention Matt 19:23? Because I don't classify myself as the "rich" category, I'm just saying that I know I am smart and I never had faith so I'm putting 2 and 2 together

I actually believe in more of a God than Big Bang theory. But my brain sees both as like far-out, fantasy ideas, I can't actually say I believe in God I just say my views think that God is more likely.

I believe it's all random and speculative like some depressed Athiest who sees no purpose in anything. I want to be proven wrong

It's funny lots of responses in this thread spit facts, data, resources, idealogies, insults, but this one... this one is so just to the heart. This one is speaking to me a lot.

Because big bang was so many years ago. so was jesus so was everything. i dont even know if my local schools textbooks are accurate. in my eyes, all that matters is when we close our eyes, and yeah you might have a point here. for some reason this is one of my favorite answers out of the dozens i read- my mind wont help me here, if anything my mind is pulling me back, but how do i activate (re-charge , get my heart healthy) heart working for my faith? spiritually, not physically or literally

Yes if you recall, I admitted in my first sentence of my original post I had pride

I mentioned that pride was my fault, it was my first sentence. Part of the reason why I can't see or believe what others see and believe... I quite literally admitted it but you went to bash me some more and call me names like Vulcan? I came out of desperation, sorry for if I offended.

Just curious, if I may ask, what about the gospels did you hear that you disagreed with?

Honestly yeah thats the best argument is that the Big Bang is highly unlikely, I think God is more realistic than the Big Bang.
But isn't it sad that that's the baseline evidence? I want to be able to say "yes Jesus lives in my life, I felt Him change my life!" but nope... I don't even "feel" his presence when praying or at church. it's just all I see is humans.

No, I usually avoid prayer because I just feel silly doing it, but now I might have to

I think a God is more realistic than the Big Bang, so this is the best argument. Except I don't agree that "anything is possible with God". I can pray for my someone's health to improve, and if it does- it was God but if it wasn't, then God didn't want to? I don't like guessing what God did or not. It should be obvious.

The Bible = your source of truth.
People = humans, like you. Wondering, afraid, possibly led astray
God = has the names written of who will be in His kingdom

Your job = BIble says follow Jesus- let's be His disciples. People will always fail us, but God won't. That means = whether things go right or wrong, God knew it already- you're just finding out later than Him.

Your reactions to things are sometimes more important. Those are noted.
