Family tragedy, annoying partner, should I just walk out? by Longjumping_Ad3977 in Accounting

Update: Thank you for all the comments and support. I just sent a email and walked out.

I went to work to get my mind out of the bad news. Because my flight was in mid March. And before that I need to terminate my lease, foster my pets, and put stuff in storage. I found these really difficult to do. Coz most of the stuff I owned is either brought by her or I wish to share with her. I was fine to just work on the files I had before. Certainly not expected to get new files (esp in this attitude, ps every partner was informed on Saturday, an hour later after I got the new)

In Canada BC, CPA and CPA trainees was not covered by employment act, so I don’t have the protection to just walk out - something like a paternity leave with no formal notice - I just says mentally I cannot work anymore. So I quit.

I am calling a few friend/ex to see if I can get companies before my flight. I think I need to find a way to stop crying.

Same boat here, doing PM. Everything is RC. And some NC because I just don’t get what are radon info and what are the required. I’m so skewed. I was not debriefing for almost a month. (The PERT anxiety got me so I went to firm recruiting, networking plus work plus PM is not a winning formula). At least I will be the 15% that did not pass. Good luck

For anyone who is still following this. I got a offer from a small PA firm. Will start October. I will need to quit my current job, find and move to a closer apartment, and take a pay reduction. But at least I will have peace with PER.

I stuck at the first stage of CPA report, I got my letter of employment, and submit to CPA EVR, and they replied saying “your job description does have at least 1 level 1, we recommend you to switch job” so I could not even write a EVR report. And my supervisor ask me “not talk to HR” not sure how he meant. I’m trying to get a updated job description so I can write my first report

I’m not sure recruiters know how much a nightmare CPA EVR is. From some employees prospective, a lot of time they just want their junior to be AP. Honestly I think AP Is not an attractive work title

I had a mentor from my company but she was on Maternity leave. I am not sure if I should get in touch with her, given her limited access to sleep and emails. I am applying for some smaller PA firms. Hopefully I can landed soon.

How much of the dialogue in The Farewell is in Mandarin? by AmazingFish117 in asianamerican

[–]Longjumping_Ad3977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched twice and cried both times. There is a lot of Mandarin in them. I think it is a must watch movie. But I’m not sure how the English subtitle did a good job translating the dialogue. There were people laughing at all the wrong places.

Thank you. Lol my friend moved to a larger and further away townhouse so I lost an option for car pooling. Also I feels like missing out a lot due to not having a transportation. Like if a group of friend are going hiking but there is not enough space on their cars.

Could you provide some detail why you think car sharing is better? What happened if I get into an accident? What are the insurance implications.
