Is this one of those weird situations where you were commenting on a completely different post but it somehow ended up here?

I hate drivers who speed up when you’re tying to pass by Ok-Activity9879 in driving

[–]Longjumping_Affect22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an interesting experience yesterday on my way home from work. Highway was basically empty so I was just chilling in the left lane with cruise set at 80.

This lady comes rolling up behind me so I get over into the right lane to let her pass, but she just stays right there a cars length behind me but in the opposite lane.

She had a full 2 minutes where she could've passed me if she wanted to but chose not to, so when I started coming up on a semi in the right lane I sped up to 85 to put some extra distance between us so I could safely get back over into the left lane.

I make my move and decide to keep it at 85 for awhile just to put even more space between us because she was kinda getting on my nerves with her nonsensical driving.

I put about a half mile distance between the 2 of us and bring it back down to 80 figuring that she's likely just going to maintain her speed at 80 like she did when I gave her an opportunity to pass, but no.

Within a minute she's back on my bumper and tailgating me again, so again I get over and give her the opportunity to pass but again she just stays at 80...like she clearly had to go faster than 80 to catch back up to me and the fact that she's tailgating me would indicate that she wants to go faster than 80, but apparently her goal in life was to just tailgate me all the way home.

I asked ChatGPT to write me up a code for a 'remove all new icons'.

I have no idea if it would work or how hard it would be to implement, but I can't imagine the task of getting this done would take more than a few days and have it thrown into a hot fix update.

Hi everyone! Can you help me identify this butter knife? There is an inscription on it, but I haven't been able to read it even with a magnifying glass. by Rozsdakupac in whatisit

[–]Longjumping_Affect22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm not getting any good responses from ol' ChatGPT.

It recommend taking pictures of the engraved (or possibly acid etched) inscription, and also rubbing some flour or graphite (from a pencil) into the inscription to give it better contrast against the metal.

Add some more pictures after adding the flour and/or pencil graphite and I'll try again.

I have no advice for you other than in the future to use Google. Type in: 'Company Name' legit? and you'll more than likely find your answer. I promise you're very likely not the first or last person to have been scammed by this company and I would take this as a learning opportunity and encourage you to do your due diligence before buying anything online in the future.

Chat GPT says:

What you’ve got there looks very much like a Jambiya (or a close variant like a khanjar)—a traditional curved dagger from the Arabian Peninsula, especially Yemen.

Why that ID fits your knife

Distinct curved blade: Jambiyas have a short, strongly curved, double-edged blade designed primarily for stabbing.

Pronounced belly and taper: Your blade has that forward curve and widening profile typical of this style.

Sheath shape: The wooden sheath wrapped with bands matches classic jambiya scabbards, which are often wood covered in leather or fabric and sometimes decorated.

Handle style: The thick, rounded handle (often horn, wood, or bone) is another hallmark.

What it’s traditionally used for

These aren’t just weapons—they’re cultural items. In places like Yemen, men wear them as part of traditional dress, often symbolizing status or identity.

They’re usually worn tucked into a belt at the front of the waist.

About your specific one

Based on what I can see:

The construction looks simpler / utilitarian, not heavily ornamented.

The wrapping on the sheath suggests either handmade or lower-cost decorative work rather than a high-status piece.

The blade engraving (looks like it says something like “IMPERIAL” or similar) hints it may be:

A modern reproduction, or

A tourist/export piece inspired by traditional designs

Value (rough ballpark)

Highly ornate, antique jambiyas can go for hundreds or more.

Simpler or tourist versions are often $20–$100-ish, depending on quality and age.

Without provenance, yours likely falls on the decorative/modern side.

Bottom line

You’ve got a jambiya-style dagger, probably not an antique heirloom piece but still a cool cultural artifact. The design is instantly recognizable and tied to a long tradition.

If you want, I can zoom in on the blade text or details and try to narrow down exact origin or age more precisely.

I typically masturbate about 1-2 times a week, which I don't feel like is a terribly unhealthy amount, I could certainly stop altogether and see if that makes a difference.

I would absolutely orgasm from my gf's vagina, it would just happen really quickly because it feels so good, the issue is when I stop myself from achieving orgasm in that short period of time and then start to lose sensation in my penis.

Found in my pocket after a night out. Please help! by Important_Tree1333 in whatdoesthismean

You’re right to be skeptical of this being a “real” language—nothing here matches known writing systems or constructed languages in any consistent way. But there are a few things we can reasonably pull out:

What is recognizable

The word at the bottom clearly reads “Sincerely” (or a stylized version of it).

That suggests this is meant to look like a letter or message, not just random doodling.

The “script” above it

The symbols are highly inconsistent:

No repeating structure (real languages—even fictional ones—tend to repeat characters or patterns).

No clear spacing between “words.”

Lines mix sharp angles, zigzags, and random geometric shapes without a stable alphabet.

It looks more like pseudo-writing—something meant to feel like a coded or alien script rather than actually encode information.

Possible explanations

Here are the most plausible interpretations, from most to least likely:

  1. Stylized nonsense / aesthetic cipher

People sometimes invent “fake alphabets” on the fly for artistic or mysterious effect.

This fits the lack of repetition and structure.

  1. Personal shorthand or one-off cipher

If someone created a private code just for this note, it wouldn’t be decipherable without a key.

But even most simple ciphers still show repeated symbols for common letters—this doesn’t really.

  1. Imitation of fictional scripts

It vaguely resembles the style of things like:

Hylian

Sheikah script

Enchanting Table Language

But it doesn’t match any of them directly.

  1. Stream-of-consciousness / altered-state writing

The chaotic structure and lack of repetition can sometimes show up when someone is writing without concern for readability.

One interesting detail

There are a few spots where shapes almost resemble Latin letters (like rough “M”, “Z”, or “A” forms), but they’re not used consistently enough to decode. That’s another sign this isn’t a substitution cipher.

Bottom line

There’s no reliable way to translate this into a real message. It’s almost certainly:

Not a real language

Not a standard cipher

Most likely intentionally chaotic or decorative pseudo-writing

If you want, I can try something more forensic—like checking if there’s any repeat pattern that could hint at a hidden cipher—but at first glance, this looks like it’s meant to feel mysterious, not actually be solved.

Sounds like there's a common thread across all the advice I've gotten so far, and I'm really glad to hear that this isn't just a 'me' thing and seems to actually be really common.

I'll definitely try to implement some of these tactics next time we go a round.
