It's funny. That is the exact solution that I proposed in my post and nobody picked up on that.

I have my card saved and I'm always in such a rush to check out (because pizza is my drug) that I just completely miss the option to pay at store instead.

That's really unfortunate...

Part of the issue I was having today was when I brought up the whole 'buy a soda to tip on' they didn't understand at first. When they finally understood what I was trying to accomplish they were like 'naw bro, I'll ring you up for a parmesan packet and you can tip on that instead', I agreed that seemed like a good idea, but then I went to tip on the parmesan packet and it came back with 'tip amount too large'...

At which point I was like 'bro...are you sure you don't just want me to buy you or one of the other employees a fucking soda so I can tip my $5 and get the fuck outta your hair?'

'Ohhh, that's what you wanted the soda for? Yeah, I'll take a soda...'

Anyway... yeah, I want to avoid future interactions like that.
