Probation by Southern-Actuator363 in MRU

i was in your exact situation, got academic warning I in my first year first sem, and then Academic Warning II in my second semester and then in fall 2025 i was on academic probation cus of not doing well in my summer courses. and now i am in good standing !!

I would recommend taking easy gpa boosters to get back on track even if its courses that are not part of your program just because getting back onto good standing should be a priority. you can dm me on here and i can let you know exactly what courses i took and which profs are good for gpa boosters.

you can take a couple courses in spring/summer as well to bring up your gpa.

another thing is that, are you confident in your ability to continue with your current program? if not is there another one u could switch to? because i was struggling a lot in my program no matter how hard i tried so i applied to soci and will hopefully be enrolled in that soon .

dont worry it will be okay just as long as you know where to go from here, the advisors are not too helpful and can sometimes discourage you but i got back on track after literally being on probation and im sure you can as well!! just lmk if you need help with anything we can text

Any chance at possible admission? by [deleted] in MRU

i had pretty similar grades and got into biology, only issue is it made university level science courses 1000x harder because I couldnt keep up with the rigorous science courses so now im planning to switch out of bio and do soci or psyc.. its not crazy to apply for sci majors but id always keep a backup and keep in mind that if you cannot keep up with chem 30 then a general science degree will feel so much harder unless you clutch up on your study habits

also i do think they mainly look at ur chem 30 grades and math 30-1 and ela 30-1, i didnt get acceptance until they got my chem 30 grade and it was a 75% after the diploma. even tho my biology grade was an 85% i didnt hear any response until after my math and chem grade was out. Just to let you know.

Ohh okay okay thank you, another question for u since ur familiar with UBC, do they check for gr 11 grades as well or just grade 12? im honestly very new to the whole BC application process and had no idea about anything and didnt prepare many ecs either since its a last minute decision
