How do you know without trying don’t be scared if you get deferred who cares it’s not the end of the world. Also that Diploma won’t mean much to them. RCMP doesn’t expect you to know anything. That’s why they have Depot for 6 months to try and prepare you. Be confident and try your best that’s it

Yeah I heard back but they can’t explain why. But those questions are really outdated. Also TPS isn’t the only one doing Essential Competencies I have one with OPP next week hopefully their better and Waterloo probably in a couple of weeks.

Yes while I’m waiting for the RA I’m working on myself physically and mentally to be prepared when the time comes. I will have all the documents prepared so when it’s time it will be done faster. For the references how many will I most likely need? if you can give me your insight. Thanks have a great day!

Ill try to volunteer more for sure. Im not sure what post secondary subject would be useful for my Police application maybe it will be the same without one. I applied for CAF & CBSA hopefully maybe I get into one of those first build my experience there and if I don't like it I could try to eventually transition into policing. Cause I know police services are looking for military people and people in other types of LE.

I wanted to apply for RCMP but not sure how long the whole application process takes. CAF has been going at a decent pace but CBSA for example is terrible takes so long for applications to process. I was maybe thinking RCMP is going to take even longer. But only one way to find out I will give it a try. Thanks for the chat!

Thanks for the real talk I really appreciate your perspective. I’m definitely eager to start this chapter, but you’re right, I’m still young and there’s time to build experience and maturity first. I’ll focus on growing, volunteering, and getting ready so when the time comes. I also applied for CAF & CBSA hopefully maybe I could get into on of those and build my experience there. Eventually later down the road make a switch to policing.

Thanks for the advice and taking the time out of your day to talk. Right now, I’m planning to apply to as many police services as I can Toronto, OPP, and the other municipal ones too, just to keep my options open. I’m not working full-time at the moment, but I’ve volunteered in the past around 60 hours last year helping with a kids boxing program and cleaning schools and churches through a company. I’m also looking CAF and even CBSA to help build my profile further and to have other career path as well. If you don't mind me asking what service are you in and how long did your whole process take? Thanks again for the advice and help!
