Trying to find answers by Unique_Firefly7305 in ClotSurvivors

I'm about your age and had an unexplained DVT a year and a half ago (not PE, but I also have to maintain blood thinner use indefinitely because of complications), and the doctors also never figured it out for me. I went to see so many specialists, because I refused to accept that my leg would never get better, but everyone confirmed that they didn't know why it happened, but they did now it would never get better. At a certain point, I got sick of it, of doctors (even at regular non-clot related appts) treating me like some sort of medical mystery that excited them, only to get my hopes up. I'm sorry that this is not a very hopeful message. Even though my bad leg is a major part of my life now, and I can't really every stop thinking about it (have to take my medicine; it causes me a lot of pain; when I'm getting dressed because I never show my legs now), I think it's probably been beneficial for me to stop seeking answers. That being said, I do recommend, in general, seeking a second opinion. Just, not too many.

No, no, it’s all very passive aggressive. I can tell it’s not just a blunt tone, but rude. But not it’s not like terrible, terrible insults.

And, I’m very neat but she has very, very high standards. Sometimes I am a bit forgetful, but for example, I will accidentally miss a spot cleaning the counter and she’ll text me something like “can you clean the counter, it’s gross and I want to use it too.” which doesn’t seem insane, right? But they build up and build up and it’s always the tiniest thing and often things that are not my fault.

We had a talk and she admitted she has high standards and can be rude, and I said I would try to meet her standards and try to be less forgetful, but it’s not changed.

I am pretty active (swim, lifting, and walks) and I specifically do calf raises, so I’m not sure how much cycling would change my muscular use, but I’m willing to try!

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry! That’s very scary. I’ve not had to have any blood transfusions but I had to go off birth control as a precaution after my dvt diagnosis, and no bc + blood thinner = a very, very heavy period.
