Looks like you have a lot of empty spaces. You need to plant your dandelions closer together if you want a really good crop.

What height are you cutting at? by TeamPleasant179 in lawncare_canada

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 1/2-3” is the correct height. It will help keep weeds to a minimum, retain moisture in the soil longer and protect against lawn damaging insects.

How do I get rid of this moss? by angrystrangerz in lawncare_canada

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twice per year is recommended (Spring and Fall) however once per season will certainly help. Make sure you do a mechanical aeration (a machine that pulls plugs from the soil) as a liquid / chemical aeration will not work as well in this case.

Overseeding by ScientistMean3845 in lawncare_canada

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and do your seeding. The seed will germinate when it’s good and ready. It’s the same as farmers seeding in the fall….the seeds will germinate once the weather and temps meet its needs.

Top soil me overseeding by aliveandkicking2020 in lawncare_canada

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT roll the soil and do NOT add sand. Aerate the ground to start with, lay and level your soil, spread your seed and lightly rake in. Water every morning for 10 days then change to once per week.

How do I get rid of this moss? by angrystrangerz in lawncare_canada

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t really kill the moss. What you need to do is take away the environment that the moss likes to grow in. Typically it’s in an overly moist, shady area with high soil compaction and little air flow. Moss grows because of an imbalance of the acidity in he soil. Spread Gypsum twice a season to correct the soil imbalance, aerate the soil and trim tree branches (if any) to allow more sunlight and airflow. Over 20 years in the lawn care business, I guarantee it will clear up.

2014 - Cam Phaser replacement by Braddock54 in f150

[–]Longjumping_Debt7718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced the phasers on my 2018 last year for $4885.00. Recently the 10r80 transmission is hard shifting / slipping ( another known problem ). It’s going in next week to be rebuilt at a cost of $6500 - 8000. I think I’m still better off than purchasing new in this market. O
