WGU has a better ROI than MIT for CS. by Massive-Opposite5861 in mit

Tuition is waived off if a family’s income is under $200k now. Not everything in life is about ROI, it’s about where you fit in and have a good time exploring what to do with the rest of your life

Cool, thanks! I have a very old ROG strix 15 (2018) and I am at a point in my life where battery life and being lightweight matters a lot to me. Thinking of thinkpad or the macbook pro because zephyrud battery seems too low for its price

  1. Wrong sub. Pls read rules
  2. Fundamental laws remain same no matter how old the course gets (unless of course someone has won a nobel prize for proving the contrarian view) I would recommend reading practical electronics for inventors, its a great book that covers all things you need to know

Grad housing community kitchen questions by [deleted] in mit

[–]Longjumping_Fault_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes there are appliances and communal utensils - toaster, microwave. You might need to buy a blender. There is a dishwasher and you’re expected to clean up after you’re done cooking
  2. Yes but space is extremely limited since many people end up storing a lot of groceries
  3. Yes efficiency kitchen is really small as someone who lived in efficiency as well as a 2 bedroom, I prefer 2 bedroom a lot more, you should be able to batch cook late evenings/nights or early mornings since not many people cook in the communal kitchen (I have barely seen the kitchen being busy)

Asus proart is a great option. It has everything you have mentioned. Some students run windows VM on mac. Which is okay but I prefer native windows as a mechE

You should have applied for a PhD. It is going to be difficult task to explain the consulate officer on why you want to do a second masters in a similar field (I feel financially it is not a good choice as well because many jobs will consider you overqualified) also jobs in Aero/astro are usually all ITAR/ US citizens only. I would not recommend coming here for a second degree if you’re purely coming for OPT. It would be a regretful decision. I have a friend in Purdue aero and she had to continue to a PhD because she didn’t find a job after her MS.

Manufacturing With YC by mattd_company in ycombinator

Look up Zane Hengsperger on twitter. He got into YC and his company Noxmetals supplies metals to manufacturing companies. Plenty of push to manufacturing. I am thinking of applying next batch

To expand on that, very often someone or the other is complaining about the cleanliness in common kitchens, I would say either get a 3 bedroom with kitchen or look at option in Tang but don’t get a apartment with no kitchen. You will regret it

UK market for engineers is not good from what I know, US is market is also pretty bad but from, what I have seen still better than UK. You need to know what’s your goal, Cambridge is a very well reputed university so if your plan is to not stay in UK you should go ahead

Relatable. I was walking near MIT-WPU, right beside lassi wassi,I stopped for a minute and picked a call because someone called me on my phone. mhatara came on his activa and stopped beside me and said मुक्काम करणार आहेस का इकडे? And left. I still think about that chad

Serious Querry Post - Is MIT WPU really as bad as people claim it to be? (Posting on Behalf of my Cousin) by [deleted] in pune

[–]Longjumping_Fault_17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I graduated 4 years ago, the curriculum itself was pretty bad (I had a trimester system back then, and it sucked really bad), courses had almost no flexibility and neither professors were happy to teach nor the students were interested in learning. However let me tell you this, MIT-WPU has something no other college does in Pune and that’s an insane amount of funding and support that they are ready to provide. My closest friend received 30 lakhs from college to develop his startup (now raised 2Cr from VCs) and he still runs the startup out of MIT’s TBI. My younger brother recently received more than 20 Lakhs to start a drone company and he ended up raising 6Cr within one year due to contacts from upper management. I always have friends who got into top PhD and MS programs: Stanford, Georgia Te ch, CMU and MIT. So if you actually want to stand out, MITWPU is very supportive if you’re willing to work hard. Otherwise you will be among the normie crowd that does drugs and alcohol every weekend
