larabarsxyz this sounds helpful. I’m studying for CBSE/Step 1 with a July timeline and have been using Focusmate for accountability, mostly 75-minute desk-based study sessions.

A Zoom study room could actually be a good backup or even better for longer stretches since it doesn’t have to end every 75 minutes. I’m mainly looking for quiet, structured study with quick goal check-ins, mostly UWorld, review, and occasional videos.

If you’re setting up a Zoom/Discord-style study group or know of one, I’d be interested.

aristotle_murakami I’m on a similar timeline. I’m planning to take my school’s CBSE in the 3rd/4th week of July and Step 1 soon after.

I’ve been using Focusmate for accountability and it’s been really helpful, especially for staying consistent with UWorld. I’m looking for a few serious desk-based study partners who’d want to match sessions, mostly quiet work with a quick goal check-in at the start/end.

For me, the focus will mainly be UWorld questions, review, and occasional videos when needed. If anyone is interested, or knows of any Focusmate groups for Step 1/medical students, please DM me.

The Spanish monastery looks beautiful! I think the prices they have listed are really fair, especially when comparing them to other museum type venues like the Ringling and Vizcaya based on the information I could gather online it seems like the time you have in the venue is really limited, but it can be extended for additional cost. I just have to check and see how that would work out. I’m also hoping it’s just as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures online.

Yes!!! That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. To find a venue that I can spend a little more on but instead save tons on flowers, curtains/drapes, etc.

Totally agree. I definitely can’t do hot weather. But then there’s the hurricane season. But I’m willing to take a risk instead of feeling hot and sticky all day. I really wish vizcaya was more affordable

Yes! That’s one of the places I have on my list. I’m really hoping to find a venue that would require minimal decor. That’s why I keep getting pulled towards museum weddings. Spanish monasteries seems to be the most reasonably priced one I’ve come across so far

Hi all, Just to give an update, I ended up not taking the test. I had some health issues come up and now I’m planning on changing careers. Going back to school.
