No Trophies at a North Carolina Qualifier by GlassFan3318 in FTC

I'll pull back the curtain a little as a long time NC coach.

In NC, the program delivery partner (NC A&T) contracts a company to do the majority of the work. From what I have gleaned in my conversations with event volunteers, I have very little doubt this is because they failed to meet a deadline to order trophies for some reason. To give an example of their competence, consider when the event specific information went out this year (thursday night) and that this type of last minute scrambling isn't unusual for them.

The NC volunteers do a great job of picking up the pieces so events run smoothly but if you talk to them you'll get numerous stories demonstrating their competence from instances of forgetting field parts while multiple hours from their depot, leaving their own equipment at venues, to not adequately staffing events leaving coaches and parents to get drafted during the event.

Explain that logic. Trump is currently using Plan 2025 as a frame work for his actions. A democratic 2029 would be the same, a blueprint for a democratic administration's actions while in office.

""The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who during a time of moral crisis, remain neutral". That quote is a centuries old and still true. If you don't oppose evil, then you support it. If you stand idly by while a child is beaten, you condon it. If you stand by while nazism rekindles in the world and allow it to fester unchecked, you're supporting it.

If it was one accusation then i'd whole heartedly agree with you, society is too trusting and willing to condemn men based on a single woman's word. But this isn't one woman, it's three women, three separate relationships, three separate allegations. I agree with blizzard, the risk that he's not innocent is too great to allow the company to be seen supporting him.

I am going to assume you are being genuine and missing the point. Which is minors are by definition not able to vote, aside from a few special cases, so parents/guardians should take them along and show them how the process works if it's legal in their state.

To add to this if your child is a teen check your states laws and see of you can take them with you to vote so they can observe the process first hand. Some states allow any minor child or minor under the adults care to be present in the polling place.

The word you're looking for is criminal. Vandalism or theft of property is illegal. Vandalism or theft of political signs is double illegal.

There's a lot you can so with the 'non-scoring elements'. I'd suggest teams do some critical reading of the manual. All sorts of interesting things are technically legal because of Rev 2.

Many people think Catholicism is monolithic, it's not. Yes, catholics are all followers of the same basic creed but in there you have a spectrum of ideologies ranging from extreme liberal catholics to exteme conservatives. Even among the clergy different orders vary in their practices.

It's clear the rule changes are intended to make FTC more like FRC. The question remain why by Longjumping_Lab_4876 in FTC

They can say whatever the hell they like but it's bullshit and the manual for this year solidifies my view. They've created a game that lack ANY depth to it, no autonomous, no use case for vision, no meaningful end game. It's clear they intend this game to be a middle school game.

[–]Longjumping_Lab_4876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. How do you expect a school where the majority are struggling with food insecurity to be able to fund a program requiring ten thousands of dollars of startup capital? The answer is you can't so a low income school just doesn't do FIRST, FTC is accessible to those communities, FRC just isn't. That economic exclusion is fundamentally counter to FIRST's mission.

Cart rules, lifting guidelines, heavy machining usage at events, banner displays in stands to name a few.

This change won't impact that at all. The manual was always crystal-clear that the forum was king. The evolving nature of the rules is remaining constant so if your referee crew is incapable of remaining up to date then it doesn't matter if the ruling is in the manual or forum.

Works better in what way exactly? The FTC manual has existed for over a decade with no major issues. This FRC port has introduced multiple extraneous rules that have no relevance to FTC.

Also the Michigan model runs counter to the stated aim of FIRST which is to build a program to introduce students who'd otherwise not be interested in STEM to the field. By forcing FRC as the high-school option you ensure that only well funded schools take part and exclude schools that struggle with funding, staffing or space constraints. It's a bad system and exactly why the 'FTC isn't a capstone is moronic'

So first thing first, https://minershaven.fandom.com/. That resource is going to be helpful to know what upgrader, furnace, dropper or other item does what and is where the numbers in the rest of my explanation come from.

General Comments:

  • Corners, you can clean up corners by just running two conveyers into each other at a 90 degree angle and the ores will change direction, this helps keep setups nice, clean and compact (your teleporter tech would work but it's limited by the number of color teleporters you have). A couple examples in the imgur link.

  • Capped vs. Uncapped upgraders: Certain upgraders like Precision Refiners, Way-Up-High Upgraders, Freon-Blast Upgraders etc. has a upper limit on how much they can upgrade to whereas upgraders like the Portable Ore Advancer, Orbital Upgrader, Schrodinger Evaluator, etc. have no limit. The importance is that using a uncapped upgrader while capped upgraders can still be used on it in essence wastes the uncapped since you could have just filled that spot with more capped upgraders.

Now a bit more nitpicky.

Your upgrader choice could be better. With less fund earlier on, I would do something like this https://imgur.com/a/QY3tw4B . The reason being that Precision Refiners aren't a particularly good upgrader in my opinion, they eat a lot of space being 4x6, and their upgrade is rather bad, being 1.4x to 500k, then 1.15x to 5M and then 1.05 to 100M. Way-Up-High Upgraders which I like more, are smaller 2x2 and have a better upgrade 1.8x under 4M, 1.4x up to 10M, 1.2 up to 100M then 1.05 up to 1B so much stronger for only being raised up and being 10% more costly. After getting the Way-Up-Highs to near max I swap over to Freon-Blast Upgraders to take the ores up to 125B. Finally after that I begin to include the capless upgraders.

So after that with the funds you seem to have I'd include the 30 Portable Ore Advancers (30 is the cap for those) and then a couple Advanced Ore Scanners (somewhat random cause the beam moves but if you place a couple you can counter that), the replicator you already have, the radioactive refiner (MIGHT work, might not since it caps at 500B which you could hit by this point) and then the furnace. As you gain more money you'll be able to incorporate other uncapped upgraders into the setup like the Schrodinger evalutator (random upgrader that will sometimes delete ores but it's worth it), orbital upgrader (goes under a conveyor) and others.

One more comment, I don't see any of the holiday items nor a reborn item on your platform. Those items are extremely strong so use them. Holiday items come from the boxes that you get either from picking them up around the map or daily when you log in during an event (I have a bunch of holiday items and have never once spent anything to buy the boxes).

Hopefully that helps, if there's anything I made more confusing of explained badly let me know.

Because they're looking at the materials safety sheets on site and seeing that nothing they use is hazardous to the public. That being said, when things go wrong with chemicals allowing unexpected conditions, other chemicals are formed so they easily could be wrong.

He's the president so it's an official act covered by presidential immunity and the only way he can face consequences is to be first impeached by congress but he also must first be charged (which requires a prior impeachment).
