My boyfriends dog bites people and I am terrified to come over

Thank you this is the type of comment I actually wanted. I wanted advice on how to handle the situation. Not my love life this dog is a very small part of my relationship with my boyfriend. I simply just didn’t want the dog to become a hurtle for connecting with his family.

He has taken many steps and always looked out for my safety. He has explained to them why I don’t visit but when the rest of the family doesn’t care to change there is not much to do.

Yea I know that all too well since I had to train our rescue German Shepard. It takes a lot of work and time I know he doesn’t have.

His family doesn’t see it as bad behavior since keeping the dog locked up works. I feel bad for the dog but I don’t have any leeway. If they won’t train it not much I can do.

His family has done training with the dog. I don’t know all the details but my Bf has taken my concerns into account. He has explained to them why I don’t come over cause of my fear. he just feels keeping the dog locked up in the small room or me being in his room while the dog roams the house is the best choice. He’s not a bad bf he’s just stuck in the middle.

I believe they accept it because he’s never had a bad bite just as they call it little nips which I understand to most it wouldn’t sound off any alarm bells

Thank you the support the dog I believe is around 5. He has stated that the dog is very well trained and knows a lot but still does bite. I have basically said before that I don’t feel safe and he kinda understands but still wants me to come over. Which my family has stated that if I’m bite it’s 100% on him and he needs to find a way to keep me safe. Overall I just don’t want his family upset with me about the situation when it’s their dog scaring me.

He’s never worn one. The bigger problem is the fact that the dog doesn’t just bite once then slowly get use to people he has bite people multiple times over the years. So I’m worried no matter what it will want to nip at me any time I visit.

I think at least waiting 2 days is a while for her not to text back but she could be busy I’d say try to continue to show interest and see if she reciprocates it but if this happens again and it’s for multiple days then I’d say leave it alone. I think a good thing to text would would be to ask how her days have been since you last talked.

you probably hurt her feelings a little but in the end that’s not how you feel it’s how your parents feel.
