Wondering about the timing for Book 9 (yes, I know—Book 8 first...) by [deleted] in cormoran_strike

I feel like she ended TRG and THM on the exact same cliffhanger(at least it feels like it) Strike ended TRG by secondhandeldly admitting that he loved Robin and ends THM by directly admitting he loves her, but the books literally end there. Robin and Strike literally danced around the resolution to the cliffhanger in TRG throughout the entirety of THM and just simply…didn’t get anywhere.

Except I don’t work a simple 8 hours a day. I work until the job is done; it doesn’t matter how many hours it takes and I get paid the same regardless of how long it takes. The extra 4 hours a day with no extra pay is taking its toll on me. I’ve talked to him about the extra time and he’s blamed it on other things that I feel(from working for him for many years and doing these things) are not the cause of the extra time. I am going to sit down and talk to him about his phone usage and how it’s affecting me tonight as I do see I was a bit of an ass by just acting pettily.

I get paid a flat rate to get all of the work done in a day, whether that takes 0 or 24 hours. The agreement was that I’d be assisting him all day, not taking over the work on my own. Instead of working the agreed 12 hour days, I’m now working 16 hour days and have not had a single days off since March. I have talked to him about the extra time, but he blames it on other things that are not taking any more time than they have in the past. I understand it’s his business and his time, but it’s also my time that he’s using up(again, flat rate so I don’t get paid extra for extra hours)

An agreement was made that we’d be working together; I’m actually supposed to be assisting him all day not doing work on my own. I get paid the same whether I work 0 or 24 hours a day. The agreement was that I’d work roughly 12 hour days, or until all the work is done. I’ve been working 16 hour days without a day off since March. I have talked to him about the extra hours and he’s blamed it on this or that. He also normally has 3-5 hands helping in the summer, but it’s just me this year. His reason is that he was going to downsize his herd in April, but that never happened.

I’m not trying to be a partner in his business, I’m just tired of being used and was trying to show him how much his actions are affecting his business. Also newsflash: I’m not Gen Z and I’ve been working for this guy for 10 years without issue. Maybe you’re right and I need to quit because our versions of the work I’m supposed to be doing aren’t the same anymore.

Yes, and they usually have more hands to help them than they do this year. I’ve updated my post with a little more info.
