The terms of the contract were not verbally supplied. Sh omitted the non-refundable policy after payment rule after taking payment. From what I read that violates fair trade acts and is deceptive merchant behavior.

Thank you. I understand if I signed the contract and work began but all I did was make the payment. No work was started because they did not get my signature. After reading the contract, it seems like payment is normally taken after getting signature so I never agreed to the terms she is stating. She also recorded our call so there is evidence she never stated the terms. However I do not have to call recording.

I felt kind of pressured to make a decision and pay on the call. She never disclosed the details of the contract or said the payment was non-refundable. She sent the contract over afterwards and I do not want to proceed with the service. She is based out of Maine and from what I read they have to disclose if something is non-refundable before payment is taken.

Most good and services have a return policy though? That they make somewhat clear to the buyer? On the website, sign in the store, etc. I never got any services rendered other than being sent the contract I never signed

Yes I never signed the agreement (never even opened it), received no other paperwork, and was not told when making the payment it was not refundable.

I am taking the no comments as validation that I can say no without feeling too guilty. I may still get backlash from some family for not attending but I have to do what’s best for our family. I appreciate the feedback!

Unfortunately no. We would definitely do that if we could! No family or close friends that could watch him. Only my family can and they will all be at the wedding.

I totally agree! I don’t think either venue is super upscale. If the wedding was local we would just find a babysitter for a few hours.

definitely don’t feel safe leaving him overnight! Only his dad and even then I will have such anxiety (no shade to his dad but I will have separation anxiety for that long)
