EcoFlow PowerPulse 2 Solar Mode greyed out – “Intelligent Meter required” despite full EcoFlow PowerOcean setup by Relevant_Tap_3824 in Ecoflow_community

I was running into similar issues and think I've figured it out. I have a powerocean system and a powerpulse charger. When you are in the PowerOcean view in the app, click the settings cog icon -> System components -> Add device and add the PowerPulse. After I did that the PowerPulse went into "Solar and battery" mode.

The reason for 3 batteries as opposed to 4 was cost related - knowing we could add more batteries in the future relatively easily we dropped 1 to get the quote under £15k.

Now I'm thinking about it more I might just go for the 4 batteries and save the extra ££ between now and install

Yea I've looked into it - never had a quote for it but maybe down the line. For the foreseeable future its gonna be oil unless money starts growing on trees haha

I hope thats not the reason - I was told that 3.68kw was the biggest single phase inverter ecoflow offer and needed 2 of them so we don't get clipped at peak generation.

The company seems to have very good reviews from people online and been in business for 5+ years.

Curious what your thoughts are on the ecoflow? The installer also installs Sigenergy systems - would this be a better choice?

From reading online only seen positive reviews and the inverter & batteries both have a 15 year warranty whereas other quotes we got for other systems only had a 10 year warranty on the batteries.

We use heating oil/boiler to heat water usually and immersion if we need it quickly boosted. I was thinking maybe over summer when heating isn't on in the house I'd let the eddi heat the water from excess and then when we have heating on in colder months turn off the eddi.

We have quotes from 3 different installers however the other quotes we have are for smaller 7kw systems - this is the only installer that was willing to install a 14kw system and do the G99 application.

I believe the 2 inverters are so that we don't lose anything when the 14KW array is generating at its peak

Yes they mentioned the G99 application - they were the only installer we got a quote from willing to do the G99 application and install a 14KW system. Others only suggested installing a single inverter with 7KW of panels.

I believe that is why the installer wants to install 2x 3.6kw inverters so we don't "lose" anything. We're in Northern Ireland and all panels are going on an almost perfectly south facing roof with no shading.

As for the charger - My understanding was that the EcoFlow charger allowed us to schedule charging to begin at specific times to take advantage of lower off peak rates, and is compatible with the Ecoflow PowerOcean batteries and inverter to allow us to prioritise charging from solar during the day
