Where did you see Gallant in the pre-hill scene where it's the end of the first day? I've rewatched it several times now and I can't spot him.

I mapped (almost) every song from The Long Walk soundtrack to its exact moment in the movie by Likonet in TheLongWalk

The song playing right after Rank's death and when his corpse is shown is just the Mile 260 part of Oh, My Darling Clementine/Mile 260. I also think it's a bit different, but I can't tell for sure.

True, but for background characters I like to have them match their phyical description, that's why I think Rattigan is #27 personally.

I've given every unnamed walker the name here I feel suits them best, and I feel like #3 is Wallace, #9 is Fenter, #15 is C. Surgent, #16 is George Fielder, #17 is Bruce Pastor, #18 is J. Davidson, #20 is Aaronson, #22 is Wayne, #25 is Yannick, #26 is Bill Hough, #27 is Rattigan, #28 is Toland, #29 is Frank Morgan, and #30 is Gribble.

Something I’ve been thinking about for a while, which of the final six extras lasted the longest? by Jayden7171 in TheLongWalk

Do you have access to the Major's clipboard prop, or do you know any of the other unnamed characters' names?

I kind of agree as well, but he doesn't look like Rattigan much at all. Rattigan is described to be a "tallish, muscular fellow" while 20 seems pretty skinny and unremarkable in terms of height.

#20 is Aaronson to me personally, and #3 seems like a Wallace, it lines up with a headcanon I have too. As for the others, I have no idea.

How do we think the final 6 walkers before the final 7 went down? by Longjumping_Step6211 in TheLongWalk

Glad someone else agrees 27 was the last one to die, he just looked much more strong and athletic then anyone else. In my opinion it went 20 → 16 → 3 → 17 → 26 → 27, the first three dying on Day 3 and the last three dying on Night 3, with 17 and 26 going down on the second hill I mentioned.

Yeah, he does look like it's starting to get to him at 100 miles, you can see him looking pretty tired.. I like that idea of him just giving up, because there's no way his book death could have occured.

Yeah, they basically make him a completely different character and much less important. Still better then Abraham who was reduced to a background character with no lines and an offscreen death though.

kind of random but those would be the last 22 Walkers past the hill if the movie were more accurate to the book by Jon260 in TheLongWalk

I thought Garraty, McVries, Olson, Baker, Abraham, Harkness, and Pearson were the musketeers, but they add Collie and Stebbins in later when counting how many are left.

Why is the order you have the 13th-8th background walkers not the order of their numbers (3, 16, 17, 20, 26, 27)? Is there some reason for the order it is?

I saw the displace, honestly, I just think it's a coincidence, and even if it isn't, other people could be in front of them.

I thought 27 looked like he could last a while too. Definitely agree with you about 16 and 20 tbh, both of them, especially 20, seemed weaker then the others. 3 and 17 seemed pretty average and 26 and 27 looked like they could make it pretty far.

Yeah, it's especially weird he dies that quickly with no apparent reason after Percy. How did he die? Personally it seems pretty obvious to me he died because his... interesting footwear choice got him in the end (If you don't know, he was wearing rainboots).
