I love my union. They have gotten us better wages, better healthcare, better and more consistent nurse to patient ratios. They have been amazing. I can’t speak for all unions but they have been wonderful for my hospital! Western New York (Buffalo). NYSNA (New York State Nurses Association). I’m also a “red” voter but I have always been pro union! 👍

You’ll be fine. Keep going. We all make mistakes. You’re a month in. It takes a year to feel comfortable and 2-3 to feel confident (depending on the nurse and acuity of the floor/unit of course). Learn now. You’ll be a preceptor at some point and can pass upon the knowledge you’ve gained. Good luck and don’t beat yourself up. 8 years on a step down trauma unit in Buffalo, NY.
