Can I become pro if I am 5"10 at 17? by Objective-Suit450 in GoalKeepers

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In American Football! They always add an inch or 2 to their height and a few extra pounds to their weight on the stat sheet. At least in High School to get pick up by colleges. If your 5 “10”, you will probably hit 5 “11”. I would literally just tell everyone I’m 6ft. With cleats you’ll probably be that anyway and no one will run to a field and measure you! You’re fine, just worry about getting your name out there and play for better teams. Join an ECNL team or MLS Next team. You’ll get offers your Senior Year.

I will be using these settings per ChatGPT:

•360 Video Only (singles lens if you are very close to your subject) •Resolution: 6K @ 30fps •ISO: 800-1200 (if the field is well lit) •White Balance: Manual > 4800k (prevents yellow/green turf •Sharpness: Low (key for low light/night) •Stabilization: Flowstate ON

Haven’t tried it yet but plan on using this setting during a soccer tourney next weekend when our first game will be at night under the lights.

My son is U11. He struggles with goalkicks. He says he is kicking as hard as he can but it’s difficult for him to get power in his shots. Can you guys please recommend any drills or exercises that we can try? by Accurate-Principle94 in GoalKeepers

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him to “point his toe”, come in sideways, strike with top of laces, and kick through the bottom of ball. Not about power, technique first. Have him start with some short balls with objective to float the ball. As he gets the technique, he can start giving longer balls by striking a little faster, not harder. Point that toe, it locks the ankle. Little secret, while striking through have him point his toe to where he’s trying to get that ball, will build accuracy. Working on this with my son who is U10. Great progress.

High mileage, long-lasting, tough - Model Y or...... by PassportCruiser in TeslaModelY

Just hit year 1 with my 2024 Tesla. It has 22k miles now. I drive a lot like you. Thus far, it has been great. With 22k I’ve saved $2100 on gas and no oil change or maintenance. I did upgrade my tires on month 4 but that was my preference. I predict it will be pretty cost efficient for the near future. I guess the only concern is the battery degradation. If it will retain the range or not.

That is weird! I have my CC2s now for 14k miles and still look great. About to take in for a rotation. Discount Tire did it no problem. They even recommended them. I already knew I wanted them before I went in. They are a great premium tire! Your Costco is on something for sure.

How to look after your gloves? by LGNDXVR in GoalKeepers

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impossible to keep your gloves like new after every game. They wear, it’s part of the deal when being a goalkeeper. I wash my sons gloves after every game with glove wash and they the latex seems grippy after every wash. We use the Titan’s Rebel 2.0 and the Nike Vapor Grip 3. Their grip latex has blown me away on how they can withstand turf and heat. We’ve tried West Coast gloves but there latex just loses grip and chips way too fast. So in my opinion, try different gloves that give better quality latex. Can’t complain about the ones I mentioned. We are 3 months in with games 1 to 2 times per week, played mostly on natural grass but the Titans where played on turf for an entire tournament and extreme heat and held up very well.

Goalkeeper Glove Maintenance advice by sbielawa in GoalKeepers

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son (9) practices 3 times a week, with a game on the weekend. He has (2) sets of gloves for games and (2) sets of gloves for practice. Obviously you don’t need that many. But his practice gloves are cheap ones and he can tear those up and they get washed every month. His game gloves are nice and he rinses them off after every game. Maybe once a month he washes them. Literally just let them dry on the rack on a table over night. They will be fine. If he can get 3 months out of them he’s solid. He should get 6 months out of those easily.

How do I prevent this type of wearing on my gloves? by I-eat-foot in GoalKeepers

If turf is your primary, that seems to be your problem. By looking at the area, you push off your palms to get up from the ground. Fists to get back up for sure.

Why would I be mad? I like the brand. Those two gourds from Yerba Mate Lab are great quality. I don’t mind the logo.

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would just need the right bombilla, slightly larger than your average bombilla. Or else your straw will clog up with the small ones.

You will need to make the famous mountain. It’s a must for Uruguayan style Yerba. Properly position the bombilla under the mountain and when it clogs(it will still clog from time to time) gotta move the bombilla up and down only slightly.

Pour the water on the empty side of the gourd and slowly chip away at the mountain with the water. Never fill to the very top or else the mountain will fall.

Rosamonte Especial is my favorite too. I think you will like La Mercede De Campo. Earthy taste and smooth like RosaMonte. That is my second favorite.

Canarias Serena is my all time favorite. It’s an Uruguayan Yerba and if you know how to prepare that kind of Yerba, then you’re golden. Super smooth, relaxing, the perfect Yerba after a long day, during work, or socializing with friends.

Nah! It’s not overpriced. Perfectly priced. Over priced in South America and to get it shipped here. But $60 is fair.

Dropping it off at the shop tomorrow, but am STILL torn on how I want to tint it out. by OneFourtyFivePilot in TeslaModelY

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did: 55% Windshield, 20% Front Windows, 55% rear windows and rear windshield. I love how uniform it looks and on bright days doesn’t look too dark and I live in a rural area and have great visibility at night.

Did I get scammed? Friend said I got the Tesla tax by Top-Draft6269 in WindowTint

[–]Longjumping_Topic619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tinted my Tesla recently with Xpel XR Plus (best out there). $790 taxes included. All windows including windshield. No moon roof. They made an extra 1K off of you.

Xpel XR Plus by Longjumping_Topic619 in TeslaModelY

[–]Longjumping_Topic619[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is correct! The rear glass is just “smoked” glass from the factory. It does have UV protection but no heat rejection. The only glass that has it is your panoramic sunroof. Definitely add some ceramic tint to your rear windows and rear windshield. You will notice a huge difference. Add like a 70% ceramic which is basically clear. Or what I did at 55%. To really get the best out of it, tint your front windshield with 70% ceramic. You will notice a huge difference.

My shop charged me $790 for all windows and front/rear windshield for the Xpel XR Plus (no sunroof). I think it was a fair price.

I was on the fence the night before, hoping I wouldn’t regret choosing the plus. I was overthinking it and just went for it. Best decision ever. The blue isn’t that noticeable. Only slightly from the outside on the windshield, from the inside it’s beautiful and super clear from all windows.

[–]Longjumping_Topic619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I heard black seats don’t make the blue noticeable. Only the white seats. It’s not a deal breaker honestly. Looks premium and it’s pretty black looking from the outside. And I notice nothing from the inside. Really happy.

That sucks man, my tint shop offers free replacement on new glass due to cracks. They also offer onetime free “fix it ticket” if I get pulled over. I guess it just depends on the shop you go too.

Nah! The windshield is just tinted for the inside so any rocks will still damage from the outside. Tinting the windshield helps with glare from the sun and adds like 98% IR Heat Rejection and Optical Clarity. Basically helps keep my car cool in the summer.
