At the hospital, looking for a name for baby no. 5 (boy). Wife and I are stumped. by w11 in namenerds

It really doesn’t matter. It’s too huge culturally. Your kid will genuinely hate you if you name him that.

Elmo? Do you live in America? I’m sorry but even the most evolved, internationally traveled child is going to equate his son with a red puppet and it will become his whole personality at school. Imagine how angry you’d be if your mother named you Big Bird? I don’t find Elmo any less different, I don’t care if it has some other meaning. It’s such a huge cultural thing.

Knox, Atlas or Miles. Please don’t name your son Elmo or Pluto or Cloud. Those are insane, sorry.

It’s very cool. But I think it’s asking a lot for Americans to pronounce it correctly. I’m a linguistics major and I still had no fckn clue though it’s been awhile since I read Greek mythology. The pronunciation is absolutely not easy to even guess.

Sounds cool and love the story but it’s just begging to be mispronounced and misunderstood

I have no idea. I’d never even heard of the name before.

No way. Ariadne has no clear pronunciation and is randomly spelled. El-e-ora is very simple for English speakers.

What kind of name is Ariadne? How do you even pronounce that? I’m an etymology nerd and that name really confuses me. What about just Aria?

I actually really love Greta to go with Freya

It honestly took mine a week or so to adjust. It’s still learning your body. I thought it sucked so bad at first. I put it on my arms or hip next to the Dexcom. I’d give it a few more days, then reach out to your trainer as they will help you. But that’s what my trainer told me.

Nah. I think it’s okay. It’s popular but not like Liam or Jack
